This or Great Battle Rome

Post by heroes99 »

Cannot decide between Rome and this one , there is a sudden interest in Ancient Battles and looking to get another title after purchasing FOG

Is GB Rome still worth getting ? Is the GB Medieval have a lot of new features ?

I currently own titles CEAW , CNAW , Conquest , FOG and I have to say that you guys really know how to develop wargames that easy to get into but still with a lot depth , great job !!

Cheers

It really depends on what you're looking for:

- Legion Arena/GB Rome has a linear campaign...you cannot chose which battle you'll fight after. Very story based. As a fan of History, i've enjoyed Legion Arena the most. While the engine has been improved in GB Rome, i prefer the more historical movies in Legion Arena/Cult of Mitras (Legion Arena Gold)

- Great Battles Medieval...graphics have been updated so you need a good computer to run it (check the spec). You can chose your next battle from various available battles. The battle is real-time, looks great but with a turn-based order phase...(somewhat similar to FoG).

Cheers

I would definitely go with GBM - it is superior in every way in our opinion, but then it had 3 years more development on top of the GBoR engine so you would expect that :)
