Warfare 2024 will be held this year at Farnborough International Exhibition & Conference Centre 0n 16th/17th November.

This is a two-day event with 2 games per day, using the most recent version of the rules - exact timetable to follow but much as last year.

If you are able to bring a gaming mat that might be a good idea.

You don’t need to bring dice for the weekend – Steve Murton is providing

In terms of umpires there are enough people there who know the rules – just ask someone vaguely competent.
Saturday
Check-in: 8.30 am to 9.15 am
Round 1: 9.30 am to 12.45 pm
Lunch: 12.45 pm to 1.45 pm
Round 2: 1.45 pm to 5.00 pm

Sunday
Round 3: 9.00 am to 12.15 pm (n.b. earlier start-time than Saturday). I hope to have a special prize voucher to give out at Sunday lunchtime which will need to be spent at the trade stands that day
Lunch: 12.15 pm to 1.15 pm
Round 4: 1.15 pm to 4.30 pm

You are welcome to start early if your opponent agrees. I’ll call “end of phase” at precisely the end time of the game.

This will be an open competition, any army from any of the three online army books. Tables will be 6 foot by 4 foot or thereabouts.
This is a handicap competition, to level the playing field for less experienced players. Players will be allowed 750, 800 or 850 points depending upon level of experience and position in the rankings. The bands are as follows:
750 points: Ferdi Akaltin, Graham Briggs, Steve Murton, Terry Shaw, Dave Ruddock, Paul Bartlett, Phil Jelley, Phil Powell, David Fairhurst.
800 points: Andy Kitcher, Paul Longmore, Dave Morrisson, Pete Dalby, David Bannister, Steve Brown, Ali Shaw.
850 points: all other players.

All other aspects will remain the same: the usual scoring system, random first round draw where anyone can play anyone except club mates, Swiss chess thereafter (no clubmate matches on day 1 though).
