It would be a nightmare for those armies where light guns are compulsory such as the Covenanters.

Is it intended at Britcon to restrict all Artillery or just Medium and Heavy Artillery?
Look again.. I think you may have misread it

21 entries... do we have any extras to make it up to an even number (or even the full 2-dozen which we managed to get last year ?)

Just a gentle reminder that it's only 3 weeks to Britcon. Which means that the deadline for Army Lists is NEXT WEEKEND!

It would be really good if everyone could make an effort to get their lists in on time. Thank you.

Jim Copeland signed up today so we are now a very even 22 - huzzah.

Is anyone interested in buying a well painted late period army? Dixons range - doable as French, LOA etc. Somethimg like 4 x 5+1 foot BGs, 5 x 3 dragoon BGs, 5 x 4 mounted BGs, 1 x 4 light horse and 2 x 2 Artillery BGs plus a lilliput lane camp!. Around the £1 per figure mark. Could possible extend to another 4 BGs of foot if needed. PM me if you are.

We're actually at 23, as there is a player in the FoGAM period (Ian Poade) who has transferred into R

Just one short of matching last year...

So far I've received lists from:

Nigel Emsen
Mick Hood
David Parish
Simon Clarke
Keith Spedding

If your name is not there and you've sent me a list, please re-send it.

I'm still expecting lists from:

Adrian Steer
Benedict Jones
Bruce Rollett
Charles Masefield
David Allen
Don Avis
Hunter Hope
Ian Poade
James Gibson
Jim Copeland
John Munro
Lynnette Maxim
Matthew Poole
Paul Kitcher
Simon LeRay-Meyer
Stephen Stead
Stewart Riddick

Plus of course, one more entry to get us up to an even number would be great.

That's no problem, at the moment it's just a matter of reminding people and making sure I haven't missed any. More urgent reminders/cajoling/abuse starts next week if necessary.

You could, of course, just ban John for the late list and then you have your even number...

Just a thought...

The Saturday night of Britcon will see our first "Beer, Burgers & Bullets" evening upstairs in the bar onsite. Starting around 7:30 as the evening games begin to draw to a close, we will be offering:

- draft beer,
- "gourmet" burgers and chips (that's "fries" for those of you who live south of Watford)
- other BBQ stuff as well
- comfy chairs
- regular tables set up for social gaming (feel free to bring a game)
- a couple of "classic" war movies playing on a 50" screen in the corner (The Great Escape is one of them... so start your whistling practice!)

And, if it could get any better, we have even secured a special advance purchase rate for a "meal deal" of just £10 for a gourmet burger, chips and a pint !

CLICK HERE TO BOOK YOUR MEAL DEAL FOR JUST £10 (PAYPAL/CREDIT CARD)

For those of you who are planning on attending, we would really, really appreciate it if you could book the "meal deal" in advance as it greatly helps the University catering team with their planning.

So, please click the button above to make your "saving roll" and join us at "Beer, Burgers & Bullets 2015". We'll hand you your voucher for your meal deal when you register on Friday, and additional food and drink will also be available to purchase on the night as well. However the "meal deal" rate won't be on offer on the night, so if you think that you will have a pint, a posh burger and some chips anyway (which of course you will...) this is a great deal.

You can also book multiple tickets if you wish, either for your friends and clubmates, or just to have a guarantee of "seconds" for an extra tenner

CLICK HERE TO BOOK YOUR MEAL DEAL FOR JUST £10 (PAYPAL/CREDIT CARD)

We look forward to seeing you over Britcon Weekend

Still one player short...

If anyone knows or can dragoon a friend along, now is the time to do so !

Otherwise, if anyone does want to drop a round and miss Friday night or Saturday last game (or arguably even Sunday morning...) do let us know, as if we do end up with byes in each round anyway, it would be good to offer them to people who are happy to skip that round
