Re: Eastern Front: Soviet Storm 1.8 (RELEASED)
I have a strange problem: In 1.8 I have got the factories to the urals but of the five resting spots it does not say which one goes in which and i dont want to place he wrong one in the wrong spot. In version 1.7 i did not have this problem. Any ideas? or if anyone could tell me which one is which - the actual transports are marked just the end spots have thier place names like 'perm' or 'uztm'. Given how long it takes i dont want to have to start again. thanks for info
Re: Eastern Front: Soviet Storm 1.8 (RELEASED)
Hi Hugh.
Very strange, did you activate the mods in the correct order?:
1- Massi Mod
2- Soviet Storm, select overwrite the conflicts.
I suggest you to deactivate both mods and try again, 1) Massi and then 2) Soviet Storm selection overwrite. Your savegame will not be harmed.
Do you see the cities prestige icons, etc?.
In any case here a screenshot showing the locations:

Factory N.75 must be deployed at the south of that area, near Chelyabinsk.
Hope it helps.
Best regards.
Akkula.

Re: Eastern Front: Soviet Storm 1.8 (RELEASED)
Hey Akkula! Your mod work is incredible, and I just have one question for you. The first Stavka mission in the Great Patriotic War requires that we destroy a 7HP supply depot near Constanța in Romania. How can this be done? I tried using strat bombers, tac bombers, and my navy, but it seems impossible to accomplish by turn 3. Any ideas?
Re: Eastern Front: Soviet Storm 1.8 (RELEASED)
Thank you Akkula.
any chance of a quick screengrab for no 75 (south near chelyabinsk) so i get the exact hex right - i presume it has to be on the exact hex?.
I dont use gmje; i use a duplicate installation on another partition which is overwritten for all my mod usage. Its just the writing "factory x" on the hex isnt written. yes i have the massi tiles mod overwritten correctly. all other hexes and graphics come out correctly so i assume its just my laptop, its about time i replaced the hard drive
Strangely enough the only other thing that is missing is the graphic near the origional factory site - the one that if you park something else on it you dont get the portable factory.
Many thanks for your GREAT mod.
i completely redid my installation and the writing and the origional factory graphic is back the first time i loaded it to play HOWEVER the second time i loaded it to play the factory placement writings are gone again. wierd!!!.
so i still need the exact location of number 75.
thanks for your help and sorry to be a nuisance.

Re: Eastern Front: Soviet Storm 1.8 (RELEASED)
Also in turn 48 it says: "bring the diplomats to the blue hexes west of istanbul". I cant see any blue hexes, where are they - any chance of coordinates?. Thank you.
Re: Eastern Front: Soviet Storm 1.8 (RELEASED)
Hello Hugh!, sorry for the late answer, I completely forgot to answer your last question.... I am with my hands full working in the Modern Conflict Mod.
Now, the answers:
Factory No75 hexes: 161,95
Diplomats hexes: (63,150), (62,151), (63,151), (62,152)
It seems you should reinstall everything at the first chance you got.
Hope it works.
Akkula.

Re: Eastern Front: Soviet Storm 1.8 (RELEASED)
Thanks for the info.
Two other little problems i presume you want to know about which I believe are not related to the former:
93rd rifleman, appears at turn 7/8 about(60,82) way behind the lines when the frontline is not past the dvina.
@turn 9; an anti tank gun appears behind the front lines at the airfield at (65,91). NB it doesnt appear if you occupy the airfield with a unit.
I suspect these two are a result of holding up the invasion alot longer than the program expects.
Thanks

Re: Eastern Front: Soviet Storm 1.8 (RELEASED)
Possible bug with the mini campaign: at the end of turn 20 of the first map I hold all victory hexes and have 8 auxiliary units at the A hexes, yet still get a marginal victory. My guess is that when the new instructions arrive halfway through the scenario, the DV conditions aren't updated.

The Tallinn scenario shows a message without text on turn 5.

Hi Akkula,
nice improvements with your mod. Is there anything to note if I update with patch 1.30?

Re: Eastern Front: Soviet Storm 1.8 (RELEASED)
Hi Asuser, for the moment I am with my hands full with the Modern Conflicts mod so no plans for the Eastern Front in the near future.
But, if the game is still alive, in the future I will definitely going to work in some update for the mod. I think I still can improve and add more content, the tons of new units Flak is releasing every month is a prove of that
Thanks for your comments.
Best regards,
Akkula.

Re: Eastern Front: Soviet Storm 1.8 (RELEASED)
Just tried the mod. It's GREAT! Thanks for the great effort to Akkula and all the participants. Also such thorough approach and historically viable attention to the Great Patriotic War is impressive. Even the winter Life Road thru Ladoga lake is here!
It was raining on 1st turn in my game (Grand Scenario) that greatly negated the Axis initial blow. By the way, does the weather affect equally the whole map? The airforces were grounded elsewere.

Re: Eastern Front: Soviet Storm 1.8 (RELEASED)
As a bonus, I take the liberty to post some photographs I taken this summer in the new museum and memorial cemetry on the Neva river shore, dedicated to the initial 1943 Leningrad siege breakout.
All the pictures are clickable for enlargement.
T-34-85 on a pedestal. The historically correct for the year 1943 T-34 of earlier models are very rare today (were scrapped in great numbers on the late stages of the war/modifed to serve as non-combatant auxualry vechicles).

KV-1 in winter camo (early 1940-1941 series with short gun)

BT-7 in rather good condition

KV-1/41 with enlenghted 76mm gun

T-38

The T-38 above was hit in the battle, drowned in the Neva, had been lifted from the bottom and restored. The hole in the armor from the German AT-gun remained though

KV-1S

The blockade breakthrough in the diorama fragment (central)

One more fragment (left)

Right fragment

Remains of the war on the Neva shore

The view from the left (then German) Neva shore. There is an almost vertical elevation 10 meters high immediately behind the beach.

The memorial cemetry and the cross

You have to hit that shoreline with a metal detector. I wish I could come over with my four detectors

Re: Eastern Front: Soviet Storm 1.8 (RELEASED)
What should I do in the campaign scenario to evacuate an industrial center? Does the evacuate train activate automatically? In whcih conditions? Should I keep some trains (not invovlved in the unit transportation) in the railroad transport pool to evacuate?
Re: Eastern Front: Soviet Storm 1.8 (RELEASED)
Hello DoctorHaider,
just keep attention to the ingame messages. They will indicate you when the trains appear (and their starting locations).
Then you just have to move them along the rails in to their destination points at the Urals in the East.
The trains have their own different unit icon so you will be able to identify them.
Best regards,
Akkula.

Re: Eastern Front: Soviet Storm 1.8 (RELEASED)
Thank you. Already evacuated Minsk, one of Leningrad factories and Kiev. The trains appear on the turn three. By the way, what is the turn lenght? Two weeks? I suppose that some turns (in winter???) are more lenghty than others, otherwise it's not possible to fit the 22.06.1941-01.07.1945 period in exactly 99 turns (it goes only up to 29.04.1945 if broken up exactly on two week turns).Akkula wrote:Hello DoctorHaider,

Looking at those values I would think 15 days per turn would cover it.DoctorHaider wrote: By the way, what is the turn lenght? Two weeks? Yep, it looks feasible. Exactly 99 turns.BiteNibbleChomp wrote:Looking at those values I would think 15 days per turn would cover it.DoctorHaider wrote: By the way, what is the turn lenght? Turn 4 so far. The Dervish convoy appeared at the White sea entrance. This convoy in reality also delivered the first portion of Hurricane fighters. Do the Leand Lease include airplanes too in the mod? Should they appear on some airfields after successful convoy arrival?
