LOEG - Season 8 - Clarification of divisons
Rise of Rome/Immortal Fire (Classical) - 700BC to 23BC (as before I think with dates)
ROR/IF/Legions Triumphant/Decline and Fall(Imperial) - 22 BC to 493 AD
LT /Decline and Fall/SAS (Dark Ages and Feudal) - 494 AD to 1100AD
SAS/ETE/Storm of Arrows/DAF (Late Medieval 1101-1500)
These are the 4 divisions I would like to include.
Classical is pretty straightforward
Imperial, not to include early Byzantine
Dark Ages/Feudal again ending in 1100AD prior to superior, Heavy Armoured knights
Late Medieval - again pretty straightforward
Season 9 will include Wolves from the Sea and then we can increase the size of the Dark Ages period and split late med into east and west.
Oath of Fealty will increase army options for dark ages, east and west late med
The history of LOEG started with just 1 division (numerous sub divisions) although there would be mirror matches. You would use both your army agst your opponents and then use your opponents army vs yours (liked this). Again this happened because there was only ROR and SOA. As LOEG became very successful Steve would include each of the new additions/books/lists.
I will email Steve with the above suggestions and see what he thinks.

Re: LOEG - Season 8
I think it's very unfortunate if Wolves from the Sea won't be making an appearance in Season 8. If the Season begins in April, and WFTS is ready by the end of March.....
I at least already planned that I'd like to use an army from it in the Dark Ages section, but I guess I might just have to take something from DAF.

Re: LOEG - Season 8
Well so far Slitherine's original release dates have nevre been spot on. So I would say end of April at the latest for the release of Wolves from the Sea. They will have to paint up quite a lot of different figures as well.
The Norse Irish would be my choice of army.
I reckon 6 to 10 units of HF/MF sup, unprot, HW @ 7pts
400 to 1000 units of MF, avg, unprot HW @ 6 pts
MF, avg, unprot lt spr/jls @ 5pts
LF, avg, unprot, lt spr/jls
0 to 4 MF, sup, unprot HW @ 7 pts
0 to 20 LF. poor, unprot, lts/jls @ 2 pts
This will be the horde army of the period. Although the early Welsh (loads of mf, ltspr, sword, prot, avg) will come close.
Anglo Danes and Normans will be very tough. The former can have quite a lot of avg, arm, off spr. Whie the Normans can dismount as sup arm off spr? Of course armour doesn't bother the Norse Irish, shooting does.
Oh yes nearly everything will be undrilled
Checked back on previous communiques and noticed that PB had included a dark ages period 496ad to 1100ad
I ahve copied, pasted and saved in a folder the various armies to be used in classical etc.
Do you know if there is a site/link thast has all of these lists so I could copy, paste and save or do you have to go into the relevant addition/list and write the armies down with dates and then type them into saved folder

Re: LOEG - Season 8
Wolves from the Sea seems to have been pushed to 15.06.2012. Guess that means even the slightest chance of it making to LOEG 8 is gone. Oh well.

LOEG Season 8 - Communiques and Results - Classical
Hi
Well we will be including all players who are in the relevant divisions shortly.
All communications amongst players, please use this thread.
Once more use this thread for issuing challenges and also pm your opponent(s) use the board preferences on private messages and tick all.
Reporting results will be incumbent on the player who won the battle. They will be required to log into the Slitherine Forum and post the result publically on the appropriate thread (e.g. Classical Battle Results). Results posted should be reported in the following format;
Division (A/B/C etc.)
Player ID (army) (BG lost / BG total) vs Player ID (army) (BG lost / BG total)
Example
Division A
pantherboy (Later Seleucid) (25/23) vs CharlesRobinson (Late Republican Roman) (14/23)
The next step is to update the online spreadsheets. We have posted links to online spreadsheets for each of the leagues within the “Temporay League Results & Tables”. Each link will take you to a series of spreadsheets detailing each division table plus another sheet showing the ladder. What this means is that tables and ladders will always be up-to-date as long as results have been recorded.
