ray552 (German (Imperial) 1488-1500 AD) defeats Kroche (Aragonese 1450-1479 AD) 45-19
Each side routed the other's left wing, but the Landsknechts in the center defeated the opposing regular Aragonese pikes, and a few lucky German rallies tipped the scale.
Well-played by Kroche!

A very tight game for so long but the Danes getting to the central hill first let them hold up the more numerous German keils until the German flanks were defeated. A great game and good chat - many thanks to ray.

Division A
Kroche (Crusader 1155-1291AD w Syrian States allies 1090-1286AD) 49% loss
drew against
Zawzgrzyt Polish 1455-1500 w/ Hussite (Utraquist) 1419-1479 59% loss
A hard fought encounter saw the Crusader centre of Spearmen with as much missile support as they could bring battle the Hussite War Wagons. The Polish cavalry were strong on both wings. Left wing saw lots of cavalry action with no clear victor. The Crusader centre came out on top vs the War Wagons but not in time as the Polish cavalry won on the right and had started to pick off the remaining spearmen in the centre. Both sides had run out of steam near the end with units scattered around the map getting involved in small skirmishes for the last few turns. Neither side had enough strength left to claim victory before nightfall. A good match where I think a draw was the fair result. GG to Zawzgrzyt.

Division B,
draw, I guess :
Vadim 84- 60% - Bagatrix 61 %
We both went over 60% in the very last turn of the battle and during the same phase, he did 1% better than I.
Thanks for the game

HOML Tournament
Good day gentlemen
We have less than 2 weeks to go before the end of TDC II.
Season III begins in January.
To hopefully help some of you from "cold turkey".
I'd recommend HOML Medieval - https://www.slitherine.com/forum/viewto ... 76#p981876
Cheers

Division C
Badger73 (Spartan 221-146 BC with Roman 280-220 BC allies) defeats Wellsonian ( Roman 105-25 BC with Numidian/Moorish Allies): 40-14
The Spartans won the early game skirmisher battles which kept both Roman elephants at bay and out of the main battle line fray. This allowed a weightier Spartan left flank infantry force to pin and outmaneuver the Roman right while average Spartan left flank cavalry were able to tie up the higher quality Roman right flank cavalry force. Spartan phalanxes withstood legionary impacts in good order and once a Spartan Principes unit flank attack hit home, it was able to disorder then fragment successive Roman legionary units over several turns of successful melee's. A tense battle against a savvy opponent.
This concludes all my matches in all three of my divisions. Thank you TDC tournament organizers for hosting this competition.

Hi Both. Apologies for jumping in Keith. I am afraid I am wrong about the result. After speaking to all of the organisers, the majority stated it was a draw, both armies have collapsed/routedBobGanoush wrote: ↑Sun Aug 28, 2022 10:16 pmMy apologies, it does, I had just assumed it was a draw and wasn't reading when checking the score. Sorry about that!ericdoman1 wrote: ↑Sun Aug 28, 2022 10:06 pmHi Bob. This is a victory for you not a draw. Doesn't the game state this?BobGanoush wrote: ↑Sun Aug 28, 2022 8:58 pm Division A

Group D
angusosborne ... Thracian (Getae) 279BC-46AD with Greek 227-146 Allies
defeats
wzfcns ... Chinese (Han) 99BC-23AD with Xiongnu Allies
46:10
My third battle in The Divisional Championships with a deep stream running across it, and this one on a battlefield narrowed by sea. I think I'm getting the hang of them, although my idea that light infantry can hold anything at the river is not true. I caught some Han cavalry on the river with no room to evade and quickly smashed a hole in the line with my medium foot. The bow-armed Han medium foot was more of an even fight, but we had turned their flank by then and got into the artillery for a decisive win.

random27 (Ghurid 1100-1215 AD + Indian (Hindu North) 1050-1300 AD allies) 44% loss
Crusader centre of spear, pavisier and crossbowmen was protected by cavalry on each wing. The left wing held back a bit, but was soon in contact with similar sized force. The centres exchanged missile fire and then fought melees across the line. Crusader centre saw success, managing to hold 1 elephant up and defeat supporting missile troops and some spear units. The Ghurids had cleared the Crusader right and were now threatening the centre with another elephant unit. The situation on the Crusader left was largely unresolved although the breaking of the third elephant unit in this sector by 2 spearmen units was likely the decisive turning point in a close and exciting match.GG to random27
