LOS changes and AI upgrades were core features to the expansion for me as well. The poll you conducted was split down the middle regards releasing early or not and I'm assuming most of those wanting it early jumped on the beta opportunity anyways. I pre-ordered in large part because of the above promised features. It seems extremely odd to me that those are not considered 'core' features in the expansion now and we are expected to get them in a patch? Color me cynical I guess.iainmcneil wrote:Put it this way - if you want to pre-order you better do it very very soon!
Only down side is we've not got the LOS changes or AI upgrades in yet. We spent all week polishing the core features so the team are going to work on those over the weekend. The good news is its look very cool
Dont like wait an extra week to find after this THE SAME SITUATION no LOS and no IA improvements important features in the release until today when arent important and dont affect the release... i see that delay the expansion was inecesary because we see the expansion and the patch to expansion, next time dont take me (dont talk for other members) as a fool.

It wont delay when you get those features, we are just releasing what we have already complete to this who wanted it.
It is not what we wanted but we also did not want to make those who wanted the digital army generator (the core feature) from getting their hands on it. Ideally it would all have been done in January - that was the planned release date! The problem with games is you have to keep iterating until its fun & balanced - its not an application where things can be left just good enough. Good enough is not good enough in a game. People only play them for fun. The team have worked frantically for 6 weeks to get it all done and I think you'll be very happy

The problem is that i vote for delay the expansion to have ALL IN ONE FILE, dont like have the expansion of the expansion and when somebody have a release date is for the FULL game with ALL features announced and i think that after people accept a delay isnt elegant release the game in the same form that was not accept one week before, for me this is another Beta not the full release sorry but is my point of view.

That's what I thought. But I think the fact you're going ahead with just the army builder now has created some confusion in people's minds as up til now I think everyone assumed the delay was because of the AI/LOS rather than tweaking the core. I'm not unhappy but I would have preferred an update on what the delay was in an ideal world (but I do realise you have better things to do than hang around posting on forums all day).

You know I am as anxious as anyone to get my hands on Rise of Rome, I have all sorts of plans for campaigns etc. with my mate as we play against each other on my pc (with a 40" screen no less. it looks as good as real figures!). But I do accept that these things can't be rushed and I don't see the point of anyone giving Iain a 'hard time' over this. If not for him and his team we would not even have the game anyway, so despite my 'need' to have the expansion I don't think its fair to complain because of the slight delay we have had to put up with, it is a quality product and absolutely one of a kind.
Having said that, if it wasn't so popular and downright addictive, people wouldn't crave it so much, so I guess Iain you should feel flattered that people care so much as to complain about a delay or two.
