Division C
The game between SawyerK (Byzantine) and Cromlechi (Pictish) ended in a draw at 50 to 47.
The Byzantine army had initial success with its arrow fire and dismounted lancers but then the flank attacks of the Picts hit home and they surged into the lead. Without two very late breaks caused by the Byzantine lancers, the Pict lead would have been larger.

Questar17 - Carthaginian (Hannibal in Italy) 218 beat Triarii - Carthaginian (Hannibal in Italy) 216-103BC with Samnite 355-272 BC allies 61:42
Equal game of similar armies. Despite of terrific start when my CinC died at first impact with huge disrupted effect around, I broke Triarii cavs in one flank and medium infantries in another flank. Meanwhile opponents veteran African spearmen and samnites ruled in the center. At the final stage because of my elephants broke some heavies with flanking manoeuvres + some rallies, reached needed 60 point level to secure the victory.
Thanks for the game

oscarius (6) - Jewish Revolt 66-135 AD beats Bluefin (2) - Alan 25-650 AD : 49 to 20
Some useful terrain and my huge amount of light foot meant the Alans never managed to make much of a dent in the Jewish lines. Neither enough lancers to break my infantry or enough horse archers to outshoot me. Thanks for the game.

angel42052 (Ancient British 60 BC-80 AD) defeats SSB (Bosporan 11 BC-375 AD with Roman 24 BC–196 AD allies) 55 to 30
SSB was clearly winning through two third's of the game when I had a turn of utter widespread dumb luck. That is the only reason I won. It must have been my sacrifice of a black he-goat to the war god Kralkon.

Blagrot (Spanish (Sertorius) 80-70 BC) beat tmac11 (Seleucid 166-125 BC) 60% - 27%
Most of the scarier Seleucid forces got stuck in a mire of skirmishers while the spanish barrelled into the easier targets on my right, the pikes had to engage the Legionaries in the centre to try and make the difference and got trapped and flanked by the victorious spanish right. Thanks for the game.

A marathon game amid showers of arrows and abundant too-ing and fro-ing that never seemed to end, which only added to the suspense. Thanks for an enjoyable game with all it's thrills and spills.

Morat (French/Vikings) beat Barrold713 (Lombards/Arabs): 64-38.
Horrible terrain for the Lombards. Mountain in the centre forced both sides to operate in half a battlefield. French/Vikings went infantry heavy and occupied the higher ground. Brave Lombard lancer assaults fought hard against the French right. On the other flank, huscarls and dismounted lancers closed through a hail of arrows with Arab infantry and massed archers. In the end the weight of huscarls/heavy foot (and a couple of units of horse) won through, though not before the Lombards had finally broken through on the other flank - inflicting severe losses on the French foot.
Many thanks to Barrold for a great battle, played in an excellent spirit.
