But you were attacking Areia (#18, still controlledby batesmotel), didn't you? At least that's what I saw.

Setting up the battles

• Battles are fought using the Dividing the Spoils v4 module and the armies therein.

• The defender (in bold above) creates the challenge (with himself always as Side B) by December 3 at the latest and thereafter sends a PM to the attacker and makes a post in this thread.

• Module: Dividing the Spoils v4 (click Select another module).

• Armies:
  • The attacker uses the army that he specified in his attack declaration.
  • The defender uses the army of the defender satrapy (in bold above).

• Scenario: Custom Battle - Open Battle.

• Force size: Large (1600 FP).

• Map size: Wide (40x32).

• Map type: from defender satrapy's available terrains as selected by the defender (see table below).

• No map re-rolls are allowed.

Resolving and reporting the battles

• Players commit to concluding their battles by December 31 (!) at the latest.

• Any battles not concluded by then risk being resolved by adjudication.

• The defender reports the outcome of concluded battles in this thread, specifying who won (if any), the casualties, and if any C-in-C's fell during the battle (important since it matters for when tournament will end).
  • Example: Aetius39 beat kronenblatt 48-21, with Aetius 39s C-in-C killed in battle.

Warg1 attacks carpenkm using the army of Karmania, in Persis.

Carpenkm beat Warg1 61-48

That seems to be an understatement for such an epic sea-saw battle. The brave Karmanians came forward and cleverly trapped one of the Peris pikes on the flank. The Persisians (?) thought it was all over and started burying valuables in the desert and burning all their secret documents. Just before they had finished lacing up their running shoes the gods smiled on them. Some intense archery autobroke a hoplite and somehow a pursuing Karmanian lancer unit ignored the rather juicy rear end of an engaged veteran pike unit and carried on pursuing - blocking off any chance of another flank. Next turn two Karmanians broke and that was that. To rub salt into the wound a routing Persis pike rallied (sheepishly pretending that they had always been up for it) making the score look far less close than it really was. Well played Warg you really were very unlucky.

SnuggleBunnies defeats deeter 61-25. A slow grind in which we both lost our left flanks, but the Syrians were better positioned to roll up the opposing center.

As score shows, a lot of fighting and losses for both sides. Each side did well on one flank, eventually though the Arakhosians who broke through on their left managed to come to the middle and help finish up the remaining Areians. They held up wel until the very end, gg!
