New links for 113 and 116 update added

I had a nice hollyday, thanks. I visited the museum in "La Gleize" and "Malmedy" in the Ardennes. :)

I have been enjoying this mod tremendously. The informative pop-ups add a new dimension to the scenarios, and the small movies are really cool. I have been playing some of the DLC 39 and vanilla campaign scenarios and i am really impressed how the scenarios have been pimped to a new level. Respect if you manage to revamp the entire vanilla campaign :) . I needed an excuse (to my wife) to replay some campaigns, and i found one here ;).

Keep up the good work :)

Question, what are all the files with the numbers from 101 to 117 ... which requires you or you have to load all?
If you find mistakes may keep them or send to Google, the Google there are errors

Those are seperate updates for the mod and therefore essential, so you have to download and install them all.

When I checked the last pages of this thread, I found this:
phcas wrote:This will be the new unit insigna system in the PHCAS mod

AFTER TESTING THIS IDEA IS LEFT BEHIND BECAUSSE THE INSIGNA IS COVERING THE FLAG OF THE CITY OWNERS
I wouldn't give up without trying again, the idea is good. In fact it inspired me to work on something similar.

The main problem is space, on the icon and within the UI. One must carefully check a fitting place to add some eye candy.

The idea is to represent further info about the unit: army branch or division or just nationality. I'm experimenting with squares of 20x20 pixels placed right above the (ground) unit (and below the air units); they are not too big but still big enough to show details like letters or numbers etc.

The result looks like this, on the map and integrated into the UI:

It's not perfect but I think you get the idea. - ATM I'm working on the German army branches; Graphics are based on collar tabs and epaulettes etc.

Image

Worked on other nations as well. There are many possibilities to use this system. Below some aircraft:

And here are the 'masks', in case anyone is interested:

Phcas, if you want to use my stuff or adapt it to your work, I would gladly help you, just let me know. :)

Hi Phcas,

I had a brain storm the other day what if we flipped unit purchase box around 180 so the unit strength number is in the upper right hand corner instead of the left !!!! is this even possible or is it a major software change let me know what you think

No, you must install all updates separately. First the Mainmod, then all updates!

@ PHCAS

I want to have a full MOD (e.g. v2.0) with all updates included. Is this possible please?

Hello Schweinewitz,

It looks interesting and maybe an option. For now the "Eye" info is on the unit info screen in the mod. I am going to have a close look at what you find out. Thanks so far.

I have so much to do in my mod that this insigna option has to wait for a while becausse if I start it it will be work for months. I first want to finnish the Campaign of Panzer Corps in my mod. very busy on the Greece scenario now.

Greetings! PHCAS

I have a full mod v1.18 and I am busy on the v1.19 update.

The problem is that I only can work fine with sendspace (I am not so good in it). The full v1.18 mod is 560mb, to big for Sendspace. If someone has a simple idea to put a 560mb mod online, please tell me.

Hello Phcas!

I would recommend Mediafire, they have 10 GB maximum file size for free and keep the DL links for years, at least all my files are still there after circa 3 years.

---

Added insignias to several special units of your mod yesterday:

The insignia system works well for me and I don't want to miss it, but it's a matter of taste; I guess some gamers may find it distracting (had such a feedback some time ago when I worked on something similar for Open General).

Regards,

O.

Yes, I use MediaFire for years without problems, here for example the link to my site:

MediaFire is in my opionion the best solution!

Yeah, I am using Mediafire as well and I can recommend it, too. No problems so far.

Actually, when seeing all these units together I have to admit that I also find it somewhat distracting. For some reason my eyes just cannot stop chasing those colourful banners and in a complex scenario with lots of units close to each other it would make it harder to asses the tactical situation. Other than that, it is a nice idea and indeed adds to the immersion.

Or maybe there could be two versions of the mod: one with and another without those insignas displayed on the tactical map and then players can decide which one to use.

I absolutely agree, and I do like the insignas on the unit info screen.

Hallo Magic,

O.

PS: Are there perhaps some turn-based submarine games out there?

PPS: Sorry for going off-topic.
