About the development:

Paris 18 is half done at this stage (railroads, units and victory conditions still to do), with plans being drawn up for Uk18. I have labelled my previous screen of Uk18 to included likely deployment zones, British and German navy locations and the all-important objectives (not every hex in a circle however! - just the important cities). Planned map size is around 40x70 hexes (around 2.5k), or similar to the India scenario in AK.

Note this screen is just a plan - more details will follow once I finish with Paris 18.

More news:

Paris 18 is complete. This is the last scenario (excluding Arras18 and Mons18) that has tanks - none are appearing in Uk18 except your core ones

Belfast has been confirmed as an objective in Uk18 - only reachable by capturing Liverpool and/or Glasgow. Other expected objectives are London, Cardiff, Bristol, Plymouth, Southampton, Manchester, Birmingham, Glasgow, Newcastle and Edinburgh.

A World War One 'Sealion' would have been wild. So points for creativity. :)

No it would be another Gallipoli, just on a Massive scale! But still, it should be fun to do!

This is bigger than a massive Gallipoli (referring to Gallipoli vs UK18 scenarios from here) - there's a naval battle, Fokkers fighting Camels and a whole lot more.

Welcome to my newest scenario:

Yes, you conquer 80% of the British Isles! Luckily most of it is defenseless, but there is barbed wire in certain locations. Beyond that I can provide your enemies with 10 battleships, among other naval power which will hunt all your landing craft down and kill them one by one...

London, what a nice scene for a battle that could involve poison gas. I believe that hex (23,53) is the location of the main Slitherine office, so no big battles there, as I don't want our future to be ruined. Warning: the London Guard is hiding somewhere in that city, and is mighty strong too.

Anyone worked out how to capture the "hidden objective" on the side of the map. Note you cannot walk there after landing in Dover or Southampton - a second ocean must be crossed, guarded by a nice British Cruiser that will destroy all landing-craft-kind! (Red Baron hasn't got the range to make it here I'm afraid, so it is a different story to the Channel).

If I get enough posts on this forum in the next 12 hours, I may reveal some of the enemy forces' locations.

Ok! I can make the Mk.I - Mk.IV british tanks, and also found a good model for the A7V, and also I think I have something to work on the Sopwith Camel, and a good Zeppelin airship also. Besides, I think images for the other planes will not be difficult to find...

If you want me to start working on those mentioned units, please give me an OK. I think that we must avoid to duplicate efforts because there is a bunch of icons that have to be made.
I would be very happy to be able to help here! :-)
Can't wait to see the result! Let us know if you are stuck with one or another. Someone might be able to help.

Your humanitiy is really touching. And Londoners cannot be thankful enough for Slitherine for setting up their office in the City. It may have saved them from some trouble. (But not from the stromtroopers, I suppose. )

Anyone worked out how to capture the "hidden objective" on the side of the map.
Airship?

Really nice of you to help out with the icons, Guille! If anyone needs some input for making icons I can help with research, I have a lot of info and can help find images.

The tank I posted on an earlier page is a Mark IV 'male', the Mark I is slightly different, if Guille manages to make a nice Mark IV icon I can try to edit it to look more like a Mark I (the changes are only minor, I can provide a list if needed), or I can try to make a 'female' version of it. I want to try to start making some icons again, so this may be a good excuse for me to get something done.

Hello ThvN, it would be nice to have your expertise available! Precisely I was thinking about using your Mk.IV image as a base for the icon, so when I post the finished basic icon here, you can take it to make the Mk.I and Mk.IV female derivatives.
Welcome to the WWI boat!:-)

McGuba, don't forget that Zeppelins are recon only in the campaign, and other fighters haven't got the range (the only airbase in the British Isles in next to London, and the Fokker D VIII has only 40 fuel (all others have 20~35), so they can't make it)

The actual answer to getting to Belfast is: Embark at Liverpool, cross ocean, land and capture. However it is possible to embark at Cardiff or Bristol, it is just further away.

Very soon this forum will be converted to a history channel, as I will next be working on Arras18 and Mons18.

Well, they still have to come by boat and, as you may have noticed, I am a DESTROYER.

So, good luck.

PS: On a less important subject, based on what I've seen and read here, it looks like I'll have to take a break from my current campaign to play this one, instead of finishing it first.
I'm playing GTPG and am already on my 3rd start!! Hurry up, I need a break...

Ok, here is an icon pack for the Tank Mark IV, complete with base icons and masks for the following versions: Mk.IV Male, Mk.IV Female, Mk.IV Supply, and the Beutepanzer Wagen IV (the same vehicel after being captured by the Germans).
I hope you find them useful!

ThvN: If you like you can start working on the base icons to develop the Mk.I (and could it possibly be the Mk.V?)

About new versions and derivatives: I saw that the Mk.V was developed in the Mk.V* and Mk.V**, which were improved versions with longer hulls, in order to be able to cross wider ditches and trenches (like the ones expected to be found in the Hindenburg line). These two versions were ready after the end of the war...
Also, I recall having read about a self-propelled 152 mm gun based on a Mk.IV (or Mk.V?) chassis... Do you have some info about those?

And now, I cry for help... I would like to know if anyone with the necessary skils can make a camo skin to be used with the DCS for givin camuflage to British Mk.IV tanks...

The camo scheme I saw and liked very much was the one depicted in the attached image... Anyone can step forward?

I did say they can steal stuff from the 21st century - they stole a modern aircraft and are flying to your house as we write stuff in this chat box...

Slitherine did survive the stormtrooper assault, as hex (23,53) wasn't defended, so I send the gas shells to the hex next to it so that it wouldn't be defended at all.

Hoping to start work on Arras18 very soon (Tuesday??), but I am currently doing stuff that may take some time first (Still looking at Mar 15, I'm nearly done)
