I think this is the problem with forcing the players to follow an historical guideline. The big advantage with the Axis now is the ability to control the timeline until the point they actually launch Barbarossa. Til then, the Brits have to be very concerned about a 41 Sea Lion and a delay of Barbarossa til 42. With the historical timeline the Brits know they are safe now and can ship 3 FTR's to NA where they will now have overwhelming air power.

Yeah, but without Americans on the Allied side, the British will have to use most or all of their naval capability to escort their transports, which means no escorts for convoys, so more lost PPs. The Axis player cannot expect to hold NA in 1942 if they don't send more units there and if the Allied player is determined, then NA can always be conquered. This is how it should be, because the Axis shouldn't be able to put overwhelming forces everywhere. Also, bloody Fall Gelb means that the Allied player can feel safer in 1940/1941, as it is almost certain that the Axis will not perform the Sea Lion if they accept the armistice.

FTRs on their own aren't that overwhelming against land units, esp. the low-tech ones. The Axis player will probably withdraw all his air units in order to boast the offensive in the East and avoid unnecessary losses in NA, anyway.

I agree. And between us I'm picking up some frustration on Col Klink's inability to get his u-boats into action against allied convoys.

When the air unit moved to Crete the hex it's own now was being supplied by the Italian DD. The screen cap above was taken after the DD moved away.

He is. He's just having rotten luck (or maybe searching poorly).

June is very late, I think you have to go early or very late - of course the delay could be offset by the 'idea', perhaps soem interesting Naval landings
