This time there are some screens of the scenario " Dobrudscha", which is set in September 1916 at the same time as the "Somme-Guillemont" presented a month ago. It is about the counterattack of the Central Powers against Romania, which had entered the war on the side of the Entente at the end of August 1916. The counter-offensive was led by the German 9th Army over Transylvania and Army Group Mackensen over Bulgaria.
Round 1 (Strategic Map) - Dobruja lies in a wide bend of the Danube between the mouth of the Danube, the Black Sea and the Bulgarian-Romanian border. The most important place in it is the port city of Constanta. The core troops are deployed at the western end (1). In addition, the Bulgarian 3rd Army follows together with the Ottoman 6th Corps (2) and in the Black Sea a few more ships (3). The main objective is the blocking line between the Danube and Constanta (4).
Round 1 - Here you can see the main Romanian defence starting in Silistra (1). In addition, one encounters some Romanian light naval units like the "Alexandru cel Bun" (small ship with a long name)(2). North of Constanta, some Russian units of the 47th Corps have already landed to support the Romanians (3). However, this will not remain the only Russian contribution.
Round 3 - Further west, the Romanian 3rd Army goes on the attack at Giurgiu and attempts a Danube crossing (1). However, the chances of forming a bridgehead with Russe are extremely slim. This is also due to the fact that an own riverboat additionally takes the enemy units under fire (2). However, the placement of a riverboat in this mission on the Danube is problematic, as will become clear later. At Silistra, German (3) and Bulgarian (4) troops attack.
Round 4 - Fighting now intensifies on the Black Sea coast. The core troops are brought up to the main defence line (1). Meanwhile, the Turkish 6th Corps, which is part of the Bulgarian 3rd Army, is fighting its way through the enemy obstacles towards the Romanians (2). Beside them, the Bulgarians are also actively advancing (3). But the Russians are not idle. There is a massive enemy air attack on Silistra, which has just been captured (4). After all, there is a strong own anti-aircraft unit in the area. This unit will inflict considerable losses on the enemy air forces. On the coast, the Bulgarian gunboat was surprised by a strong Russian pre-dreadnought and badly damaged (5). Other strong enemy ships still lurk in the dark. The Turkish cruiser and the (ahistorical) "Kaiser", which I had beamed into the Black Sea, are thus also endangered.
Round 10 - Several rounds have passed. In the meantime, the core troops have fought their way through the enemy front line and are approaching Constanta (1). However, the Russians, who keep resisting, are delaying the advance. Our own air forces, however, are now coming into effective action (2). After our minesweeper has cleared the sea mines (3), our heavy ships can take the anti-aircraft fire in Constanta and neutralise it. This will break the enemy resistance. But the battle has left its mark. Battered units that will not be used in this mission will be taken to the rear (5). Aux units are also not senselessly wasted. Our battered riverboat is still on the Danube (6). Riverboats are generally quite resistant in Panzer Corps. They are only very sensitive to level bombers. In this mission, the use of the riverboat is difficult because there is no possibility of escaping into secured terrain. It therefore remains open until the end whether it will survive.
