Interenet connection

Post by Chris21wen »

While watching the Giro d'Ialia on my computer I flashed up OOB WWII and suddenly the stream became jerky. Minimising the game or closing it completely got rid of the problem. Now I know the game wants access to the internet but to want to connect when it's not needed i.e. playing against the AI shouldn't happen. More importantly the amount of bandwidth it's using to cause my internet stream to become jerky is worrying. Further what's it doing while gaining access, I've not logged on or created any passwords. Does this mean my computer is vulnerable to god knows what. If it is this is bad, very bad and makes the game unplayable at least while I have internet connected.

What I want to know is, is there anyway to turn the games access to the internet off?

I'm going to eat humble pie here, not the internet but graphics. Used task manager to see what was going on and after monitoring performance the GPU goes off the scale when streaming and playing the game, even on the opening screen. Never had a game so hungary for video before. I have a 4GB, not overly much compared to some, but it's alway been OK before this game.
