I currently have two installations on my computer: one v.1.07 vanilla and one v.1.12 BJR mod.
The other day, I tried to launch the 1.07 and nothing happened. A message popped up in the bottom right hand corner saying something about how sophos anti virus didn't like something pertaining to the game. I closed it without writing down what it said. Now when ever I try to play 1.07, nothing happens.
A few minutes ago, I clicked on the 1.12 with BJR, and I got a similar series of 2 messages. They say:
Message 1:
File "C:\Documents and Settings\FT Crittenden\Desktop\Games\Commander - Europe At War BJR MOD GOLD\launcher.exe" belongs to virus/spyware Mal Generic-A
Message 2:
Infected file "C:\Documents and Settings\FT Crittenden\Desktop\Games\Commander - Europe At War BJR MOD GOLD\launcher.exe" has been moved to "C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Sophos\Sophos Anti-Virus\INFECTED\launcher.exe.1.000"
I checked the directory, and I realized that it does not exist. There is no file named "Application Data" in "C:\Documents and Settings\All Users". I have poked around my hard drive, and I cannot find any such file. My v.1.12 still works, but my v.1.07 still does not work. I have read through the forums and noticed that anti-virus programs have been a recurring problem. I have Windows XP.

Sorry you are having problems. I've never haerd of this virus checker. One option might be to turn off the virus checker when installing and running the game. Another options might be to contact the virus checker's developer and let them know its causing this issue and they may be able to add the game to the safelist of programs.
Unfortunately we can't do anythign to fix it as the virus checker is just doing what it thinks it should do and stopping an unknown program.

Use another antivirus. Avira is a good Free option.ftgcritt2 wrote: I checked the directory, and I realized that it does not exist. I had a similar issue with Symantec Norton AV in the installation of the game. I understand that 'Launcher' can cause a false positive virus result. Right after re-installation, I placed the Slitherine Folder(directory) in the exclusion file list for Norton, and have not had an issue since. You need to re-install the game and 1.07 update, then before you run it, place those folders in the exclusion listing for your antivirus program.
