Don't forget the Pacific Fleet (after force Z and the Java Sea, it mostly remained in the Indian Ocean however, hard to get an interesting scenario against the Japanese apart from the already covered Force Z Burma Road mission)MSW wrote: ↑Sun May 03, 2020 4:47 pm Two ideas:
1. Royal Navy - a lot of various scenario possibilites:
- convoy escort against uboots/ luftwaffe
- convoy escort against surface raiders (arctic convoys)
- mano a mano with Raiders: Bismarck, Rio de la Plata
- "regrettable" actions against recent allies (France): Mers-el-Kabir
- small surface action against motor torpedo boats in north sea/ channel
- Narvik campaign
- evacuations: Dunkirk, Crete
- raids (Lofoten/ Dieppe)
- light flotilla action (force K/ subs from Malta) against italian convoys
- uboot hunter/killer air/sea patrols in Bay of Biscay
- surface night battles in Mediterranean
- major amphibious actions like Torch/ Sicilly/ Anzio (with US Navy), Normandy (primarily RN responsibility)
But speaking of raids, that is another potential niche campaign, the Royal Commandoes as the player's core follows the elite commandoes groups across the war, from the famous raids at St. Nazaire and Dieppe, to the lesser known Norwegian raids, the LRDG in North Africa then Yugoslavia, Italy and Greece, and maybe even paying Burma and the Chindits a visit once more. Maybe this niche could also be applied the Allied Airborne armies, with a modified Airborne core that the player builds up and follows some of the more famous battles both British and American paratroopers fought in. Imagine the final Operation Varsity Scenario with a very scary 5 Star Airborne Army
