May I suggest this French Light Tank for the Finns ?

The FT-17 was in China, Spain, Finland, Poland... the french always make the best shooting targets

I nerfed down the FT17 stats in my mod, Gabe, just in case you want to follow the terminator's advise and want have a closer look to this guy (if you hadn't before).

Thanks, noted. :D

Nope, actually many have that. The "Exhaust" model object. The Universal Carrier has one, too. Couldn't get it to work with my models, though. :|

Upcoming GKMod:
- fixed an issue with Sniper's movement type (chassis)
- updated rail unit names
- changed/fixed the Soviet OT-34 animation to include the main gun (w1)

Plans/Considerations:
- I don't know if it's doable, but I try to add some annual upgrades to the SS-Wiking unit
- I think the Snipers should also get annual, or at least some intermediary, upgrades (?)
- I'm not sure if the Italians need (or even had ?) some commando units
- One late-war upgrade for the Armoured Train

The Italian San Marco units could be considered (naval?) commandos.

I don’t know whether Communist China used Renaults, because they 1) were mostly guerrilla forces and 2) because they mostly used captured equipment. I could easily be wrong, though.

The Germans also reused the captured French FT-17:

Hi,

Does the Gabe mod not appear in the Mods screen at the start after launch to select it like other Mods such as BoB and Finland?

I've installed it in the correct Mods folder. It is there along with 2 other mods (which appear at start up to select, or not) but Gabe's Mod isn't listed.. I've had a bit of a fiddle around but remain baffled. Any help appreciated.

It goes into the Mods folder with the rest of the mods.

yea that's where it is, but doesn't appear. The other ones do. Baffled here..

The folder has a data and graphics sub folder and a changelog.

I think your download of the GKMod was probably corrupted.
There should be about 12 sub-folders and some additional files.

Glad you sorted. I think I have made an error to upload a RAR file. Next will be ZIP again.

And although the mod states v8.4.1, there'll be no downside playing with OoB v8.4.4, by the way.
Only some minor (I think there were like six) stat changes in that update.
I've already updated my mod to the new version and I'll upload it soon, but right now I'm enjoying playing this game for a change instead of meddling with it...

And thanks, Erik, for the helping hand with Steevo! :D
Hmmm, but I wonder what that "Korea" mod is all about...?

Re Korea.
I asked on the forum a while back if anyone with graphic capabilities would cooperate on a Korean mod/campaign (mainly adding the missing factions).
It shouldn't be too difficult since most of the (primarily US and Soviet) unit types are already in.
But the attempt fizzled out.

Ah, yes, I forgot, you mean this thread, right?

Well, my statements from the posts in there still stand, but nonetheless, do you think we could pull if off? By now, you should have an idea about what I am (and am not) capable of doing with units inside mods. I can't give you some real new models, like helicopters and such. Infantry can't be reskinned as well. New faction flags and such would be no problem, I guess. I think that Mr. T could help out here, too.

Unit models can be reskinned and it's possible to re-use units in a new way, like changing plane attack anims to use rockets instead of bombs, maybe even some "napalm" attack could be realized. But don't expect any wonders... :|

Hm, interesting Gabe...
I think we could get a long way towards a Korean mod with adding the missing factions and the various US/Soviet unit types to these factions.
If 'someone' is willing to do this I could provide a unit list of what is needed based on the scenarios.
I can live with the vehicles having US/Soviet markings. But a lot of scenario creation time could be saved by adding the unit types to the factions.

New models like helicopter(s)?

I think there was one in the Admiral's Alternate Arsenal mod! :D (viewtopic.php?f=374&t=85899&hilit=mod+A ... te+Arsenal)

Well, it was more about the war in Vietnam, but maybe it'll help!?

Thanks, but I know his AAA mod (actually I've borrowed many of his models into my mod) and there're no such models there. Yeah, he was testing something in that direction, but as far as I know he did never come around doing/finishing it.

Ah? :?

Under Graphic/Units, there is a "UH-1D" (but it's a simple picture!). There is apparently a texture for it, something as well in units.csv, but yeah, I don't see any 3D model, some .mdb file or something... Ok, I had never checked this in detail, I thought this helicopter was already working... :(
