Round 1
harveylh (Andalusian 756-1049 AD) defeats Triarii (Carthaginian, Hannibal in Italy (216-203) with Samnite allies), 61-29
Some early pursuits/evades unhinged the Carthaginian line. A valiant defense and an elephant unit almost turned the tide. Thanks for the game.

Round 1
DanZanzibar (Roman 199-106 BC with Spanish 300-100 BC allies) defeats Swuul (Roman 105-25 BC with Armenian allies) 67-38
A great battle of Hastati/Pricipes against Legionaires to determine Marian's legacy. Once the battle lines locked it was anyone's victory but an elephant breaking through a line of massed archers and routing some cataphracts truly was the difference.
Thank you Swuul - I'd love to play again!

Round 1
Questar17 (Pontic 110-85 BC) beats paulmcneil (Germanic Horse Tribes with Dacian Carpi allies) 61:33
The terrain was very favourable for me having a hill on my left and large wood on my right what gave me a possibility to occupy the hill by my medium infantry/ skirsmishers and hide skirmishers/ cataphracts in the wood. Meanwhile pikes and heavy infantry were placed between hill and woods. Germanic skirmishers, Loose order warbands and medium infantry attacked the hill outnumbering my troops located there and broke allmost my troops in the hill. Same time plenty of its cavalry had to attack my infantry in the center being pushed for that by constant fire of skirsmishers from the wood as some of his lancers were attacked by my hidden cataphracts. Having very big advantage vs his lancers i got too many points what was enough for my victory
GG to you, but again i had a big luck with the map

Round One
rexhurley (Indian - Hindu North) defeats Challenger 1 (Vikings in Ireland with Scottish Allies) 67-42
A dominant hill suited the shield wall however patience, experience and a touch of spice won the day after having given the Vikings an opening mid match.
Thank you for the game and continuing to play at the end Challenger, all the best with your future real and gaming.

Round 1
edb1815 (Arab North Africa 1000-1160 AD with Byzantine allies) defeated Mairtin (Viking, Ireland 900-1049 AD with Scots allies) 48%-16%
Great game. Battle was fought over an L shaped hill on which the Vikings formed their shieldwall. The Arabs managed to get a foothold on a spur of the hill to pour in some bow fire to soften the line. The Viking right flank with most of the huscarls charged the weak line of raw Arab spearmen and Skutatoi and it looked to be curtains for the Arabs. Some firm stands by some defensive spearmen (ie lucky cohesion rolls!) allowed the Arab cavalry to break the center of the Viking line and start flanking. Thanks for the game and take care!

stockwellpete (British 600-1030AD with Viking 900-1039 AD allies) beat rs2excelsior (Roman 24 BC - 196 AD) 62-54
A topsy-turvy match that saw me race into a 27-0 lead after beating off the initial Roman cavalry attack. But then the legionaries engaged my shieldwall and Brythonic infantry and basically chewed them up, so that I was losing by 48-39 at one stage and was looking well beaten. However, some fortuitous late rallies for me combined with some late big hitting from my Brythonic and Viking leader units allowed me to scramble over the line on turn 23, despite me having two fragmented shieldwall units cowering in the woods. Thanks to my opponent for a cracking game.

Re: KO Tournament: winners post your results here . . .
A hard fought affair between myself and Bluefin.
The Terrain dominated the game. High, steep, hills, woods and rough terrain. Great for me not so great for the Alans. In the end, even though we looked like pin cushions, it's a win for the Samnites
IMC (Samnite) defeats Bluefin (Alans) 41-16
Thanks for the game. Much closer and tougher than it looks.
