many months since the publication of the last DLC. Could we know if we are close to an official announcement or a Beta?

Yeah but that’s not a DLC.
Apparently only 2 devellopers are working on the game. I fear that the modeller is no longer available and is doing work for other games.
A time guesstimate for when we could expect another dlc would be nice.
Just to not have to check the board every day.

We are not in a position to announce anything yet, but work is progressing.

I am also dying to know if there is any long term plan in place for expanding the current time periods covered by DLCs

While FoG and FoG Empires are both excellent games, I am completely jaded by the time period they are covering (Ancient Era). In the last 10 years there has been a flood of various games covering this period.

To name a few: Rome TW, Attila TW, Alea Jacta Est series, Imperator Rome, Three Kingdoms TW, FoG games… Virtually every angle has been done. Tactical, operational, strategic, or some kind of combination.

Honestly, we're beyond saturation point. It's time for something different. I am hoping that FoG will get new DLCs soon, taking the game well beyond year 1000 AD.

In my opinion, of course. Your mileage may vary and all that...

It's time for something medieval and/or Renaissance. Please make it happen.

Richard has already stated that the game will cover something like 2000BC (ish?) to 1500AD. 1500 is the start date for the two previous games in the series, Pike and Shot and Sengoku Jidai.

Yeah, I've seen that.

As far as going beyond 1500 AD, I'm perfectly fine with this period being kept separate from the FoG brand. In fact, I prefer Pike&Shot/SJ style anyway. Those two games are due for a sequel as well I hope.

I'm only hoping that we actually start seeing any new content soon-ish. Anything that doesn't have legions or phallanxes.

I am actually more interested in the ultra-early period.
Though I will take any DLC.

I'm with you sIg3b; ultra early would be my preference, but I would cheerfully purchase any DLC.
