I recently bought a new PC which uses Win 10 but now the sound effects in some of my games are a bit weird, not just Slith games.
Sound was fine on my old Win 7 PC, and I'm just wondering if any other Win 10 users have had sound issues, and if there's a fix?

the first port of call would be motherboard makers, as some drivers are easy to overwrite if you have a nvidia graphics card, as there drivers does sound and video, while most of the time that works fine, not always, so first find out what card or chipset the motherboard uses then see what's installed for it

Yes, it seems it's a well-known issue between Win 10 and Realtek, there's a bunch of suggested remedies on the web including "disable enhancements", so I clicked that and it worked, putting a smile on my face bigger than a wave on a slop bucket..

Re: Win 10 wonky sounds?
Thanks for the advice, I'm not a Win10 user yet but it'll happen within weeks as I need to get a new laptop and it's either Windows 10 or open source stuff that won't run games. Do all motherboards have this issue, or is it limited to some models?

I believe that depends more in the drivers version and maybe how Windows was pre-installed.VoroshilovKV2 wrote: ↑Tue Sep 24, 2019 2:06 pm Thanks for the advice, I'm not a Win10 user yet but it'll happen within weeks as I need to get a new laptop and it's either Windows 10 or open source stuff that won't run games. Re: Win 10 wonky sounds?
Okay, thanks for the explanation. I'll make sure drivers are up to date when I'll get said new computer, and will see if there are any problems to begin with.
