Wheeling after contracting

Is it legal for a bg to contract, then make a wheel ? I thoguht the definition of a simple move was straight ahead ?

A simple advance can include a wheel.

If however either corner of the BG moves less than 3MU then the whole move will be complex for drilled troops and cavalry and impossible for other undrilled.

The only time a move including a wheel is complex is if the troops involved are "other undrilled", within 6MU of the enemy and without a commander. That said undrilled heavy foot cannot wheel at all when they contract as they only move 3 MU and in order for "other undrilled" troops to contract both front corners of the BG must advance 3 MU.

Added emphasis from Hammy's point...

Contracting requires _BOTH_ front corners to move at least 3 MUs...
