Re: Map Bug
You find the darnedest things, Mr. T.! (I mean that in a good way.
)
One must scroll all the way down to the left corner of the map and be consciously looking for it to notice it. Which I will do from now on, every time I play OOB.
Every time!
[Just kidding, Shards. No, this blemish does not even approach the enormity of the Coastal Road Seaside Hex Distortion disaster.
]
So if you view it here, without units . . .
. . . and then experiment with the scenario editor, you can change the terrain of that hex but it's one of those border hexes that will not take unit placement:
I believe this to be the mystical [0,0] hex, the Source of the OOB Universe from which all maps originate and flow and thus, our world of play. That is how I will view it, as a glowing, pulsating Oracle to which we should be paying homage. Bow down to it!
Unless and until they fix it, of course.

That was my guess bru, 0,0 on the grid
Re: Map Bug
I've noticed this hex-mark left-over as well. It does not appear to do any harm though.

I've seen it on every campaign that I've played. I just ignore it as it doesn't seem to do any harm.

Re: Map Bug
I discovered it by replaying the first mission of sandstorm :
It reminds me a compass in the corner of a map :
