Silk Road Mod expanded to 600 AD

Post by rbodleyscott »

jomni's Silk Road mod has now been expanded to 600 AD.

Campaigns
Silk Road Campaigns v1.2 - Sandbox Campaigns module with added Far Eastern factions, army lists and units: Chinese, Nomad and Tribal.

Custom Battles
Silk Road Skirmishes v1.2 - Custom Battles module with added Far Eastern factions, army lists and units: Chinese, Nomad and Tribal.
Silk Road MP Skirmishes v1.2 - MP Skirmish module with added Far Eastern factions, army lists and units: Chinese, Nomad and Tribal.

These have now been updated to cover armies from 500 BC to 600 AD.

To delete the old versions from your system: If the in-game DELETE button does not do it, you can do it manually.

Look in:

Documents/My Games/FieldOfGlory2/CAMPAIGNS

for the SP Custom Battles and Campaign modules.

Documents/My Games/FieldOfGlory2/MULTIPLAYER

for the MP Custom Battles module.

NOTE: The new versions are not compatible with MP games using the old versions. You need to finish those before deleting the old version.

It goes a bit beyond 500AD, Richard. The Chinese armies go into the beginning of the 7thC AD. There looks to be some very interesting new match-ups available. :D

I think that is mainly because some of the lists start before 500 AD and go on beyond. I am not sure what the last date is that is fully covered. Jayson is a bit busy at the moment so may not post a changelog immediately.

617AD seems to be the latest date covered. There are 3 Chinese armies starting after 500AD and four Northern Dynasty armies between 535AD and 581AD plus a Rouran army 500-555AD.

Yeah, i think probably has has done all armies prior to 600 AD, and then allowed those lists to go to their natural end date.

Man oh man, i have finnaly sunk my teeth into this and so far it is good. I am curious though, i thought that the late Han Dynasty, or at the very least, the Wei Kingdom would have had Cataphracts of some sort. Still great nonetheless!

They have but not enough to form big units until the invention of the stirrup during the Jin dynasty (Wei's successor)... so they are excluded.
