Back to the basics! Unhappy long time customer.
It kind of seems like a shame to me that when you first brought out Order of Battle : Pacific ? That it was a great fun game. Then you brought out some good DLC's also. But you wandered away from the Pacific campaign to the European campaign with some so so DLC's. I wish you would have stuck to the Pacific and made a whole different campaign for the West, which many companies have long and done and not many dealt with the Pacific battles. As a long time customer clear back to Uncommon Valor? I can say that I'm not happy with your end results here, I may even start looking elsewhere for games. If it wasn't for Zak_Blood? I would have deleted this game and forgot about it. Panzerkrieg had a bunch of bugs during testing and from what I see? Still has plenty. With the exception of U.S. Marines? Most of the DlC's are long and kind of boring.
What happened to that great game? It's become a behemoth with lot's of problems. You should split the games into two different games and let's get back to the Pacific Warfare!

sorry to hear it tbh and thanks for the kind words btw, i can't speak for the developers so will let them read and give there feedback themselves but thanks for sticking with it all the same and hope you and your family have a very happy and merry Christmas and a great new year
Re: Back to the basics! Unhappy long time customer.
I am sorry you feel that way. I for one (and I believe many others) enjoy the branching into the european theatre. If you look at the forum reaction, there were mostly excited reactions for Blitzkrieg and Panzerkrieg. Even though those are well-trodden paths, they are popular and sell. And while I think US Marines was a solid DLC, I found it a bit tedious (land, expand, kill, move on - even though that is what happened).robertahyuk wrote:It kind of seems like a shame to me that when you first brought out Order of Battle : Pacific ? Everybody has their own taste. And the bugs will all be removed for Christmas.
I still believe this is a strong franchise with lots of potential.

But what happened to the great Air/Sea battles of U.S. Pacific and Rising Sun? I can't even get Rising Sun anymore till this supposed fix comes out. All that uninstalling and reinstalling and still no Rising Sun. I beta tested many of those newer DLC's and could see that some were well trodden ground. I sure hope the bugs are fixed before Christmas or so as I sure would like all my games back as I paid for one DLC twice hoping it would come back but it didn't.
I was also advised to not update to the 5.2.1 update as it doesn't work or do anything anyway. I think I'll just put O.o.B. on the back shelf and maybe buy TOAW instead until you fix this mess. I'm sorry but that's just the way I feel.
If the European games are so popular, then why do I see pages of problems with Panzerkrieg?
Obvious to me that loyal customers do not mean that much to you but only trying to expand into other theaters with fancy machines from the period.
Thanks for the usual type answer, Erik.

I'm with Andy. The direction of OOB has been fine with me, geographically. The bugs are unfortunate but I've been around games and forums long enough to know that this is the way it happens with complicated programs offered to the public by small franchises. Despite the best efforts of beta, some bugs are going to go undetected until the game is played hundreds of times over by the public and all sorts of permutations are revealed.
You've been around a lot, robertahyuk, which indicates your interest in OOB. You should realize that it is got a lot of room for expansion, both within WW2 and to other eras and conflicts. You should stick around to help the game develop in the way that you want it to go.

But I don't see it going the way I would like to see it go. I miss the great Air/Sea battles of the Pacific which is why I bought the original game to begin with. I have many European theater games and I'll be honest with you here, only Panzerkrieg has the most balance of them. Winter War and Burma Road are flops as I see it. I'll leave the game installed as I'm in a U.S. Marines campaign but after that? I'll wait and see if it ever gets fixed and I see Rising Sun back.bru888 wrote:I'm with Andy. I appreciate your answer bru888 as you seem to be the only one that cares about what others think!
Thank you, rant over.

@Robertahyuk: There will be more DLCs outside Europe.

I'm looking forward to North Africa and maybe Normandy, if they come along, judging by the new launch video, this seems possible. The naval landings, seaborne supply, convoy protection and importance of air cover needed here seems to lend itself to OoB.
I agree OoB is a fantastic platform for naval strategic warfare; carriers, subs, surface and air, but there don't seem to be many theatres outside of the Pacific, which has already been well covered (?) By OoB to express this, unless it moves into a new and largely theoretical era.
The Battle of Jutland anybody? For me, yes please!

Yes! That struck a bell. Reading that, I suddenly remembered talking about Jutland a couple of months ago, here:steevodeevo wrote:The Battle of Jutland anybody? For me, yes please!

That's what I am saying. The more we stick around and support OOB, the more we contribute indirectly to its development and possibly guide it in certain directions, the more we are going to get in return.

Thanks for linking that thread, I hadn't seen it. I also, surprisingly* totally agree with your comments. I'm a huge campaign mode fan, but some fascinating opportunities lie only in complex, ideally lengthy, individual scenarios*. This could be amazing given the potential the Devs, and community designers have with the expanded capabilities of the 64bit platform once it is stabilized and explored.bru888 wrote:Yes! I'm on holiday at the moment but had just begun playing Crete. That is the perfect example of a strategic, deep and complex single scenario campaign. I can't wait to get home and back to it to be honest.
Here's another thought inspired by your list - 'The Battle of the Atlantic'. The tech wars (sub and aircraft ranges, weaps and detection /stealth) convoys, Britain and Russia's critical wartime supplies, lease lend etc... The mind boggles.

I think @robertahyuk mistook you for Andy, typical.

That's really good news. Stick around, hang in there, and together we'll help make OOB into a truly great game.robertahyuk wrote:Just to let you know! The fix I got in the e=mail worked great and everything is coming back.
