Because, IIRC, when Domitian had to sign a treaty with them he had to send them engineers (or some such) who may have provided the Dacians with the tech.

Or that some was captured when they duffed up Domitian's troops in the 80's AD (again IIRC).

Both of which are after this period, but the list covers a longer period.

We could have split the list at c.80 AD but we did not feel it was worth having two otherwise identical lists, with the artillery only after 80 AD.

We may perhaps end up doing so.
