Another Gallery !!

Post by madaxeman »

Well, I've bitten the bullet and set up a "Madaxemans" gallery on my website with picture of (nearly) all my ancients figures, plus a few I've taken at competitions and other sources (I've had a 10mm WW2 site for a while - but there are only a few nations to cover there!!).

It's organised by FoG Army List Companion, and I've set it up with separate pages for most FoG armies (not all - some of the the medieval and successor ones would just be too generic and repetitive!)

I've also tried (wherever possible) to put the name of the manufacturer next to the picture, and the gallery should be searchable by manufacturer as well as by army.

Visitors can leave comments on the pictures - so if when you are browsing you see something incorrectly labeled, you can add a comment to correct it!!

If you "register" you can also upload your own pictures to the gallery, straight from your PC. This is easiest if you can resize them first (I use some free software called VSO Image Resizer) but the upload tool will rezise them anyway if you struggle with the technology!!

The site is at http://www.madaxeman.com/15mm/index.php

Nice page Tim, I go to your page once in awhile to see what is new and read the AAR's. Thanks for making the page. I am particularly interested in your Ancient Spanish pics as I have to start working on my Covus Belli Spanish some time this winter. So many things to paint, so little time. I still have my 10mm WWII stuff to paint too ahhhhhh.

OK - well, I'm not sure if doing requests is a sensible route to go down, but anyway I have now just added another set of pictures of the Spanish to the directory! - if anyone does want any more (or clearerots of any of the figures, just ask..

They are painted with black undercoat, a mix of different acrylics, and then finished in a Peat brown all-over ink wash (Windsor & Newton) if that helps?

They are very simply photographed, sat on a piece of white A4 office paper thats curved up behind them against the wall by my desk, and with my angle-poise lamp providing illumination from above and behind the camera.

I used the new upload tool to add them instead of my "administrators" tools, and I'm happy to report it was very very easy!

Maybe you can add your's once they are done!! :)

Updated gallery..

Post by madaxeman »

I'vejust added another 100 or so pictures kindly provided by Steve Dean Painting service to my website, covering East European and dark Age Medievals, some stunning Ottomans, some Celts, Huns & Mongols, Greek Hoplites and a lot of Arabs.

That's now nearly 700 photos in Madaxemans Photo Gallery which between them have been viewed over 2000 times already, by anything up to 60 people each day !!

Another 100 or so photos added today, so I'm up to nearly 900 photos now (with more pro-painted goodies kindly provided by theonetree Painting Service) - this time lots of early period armies added in.
