The Persians came out to fight in the open, and did very well against against most of the Kyrenean units, except for the heavy chariots, which wreaked devastation in the ranks of the Immortals.

This game could not possibly have been any closer! Kyreneans got the Persians down to 33 BP, while they were still up by half a dozen or so, and hoplites moved in to loot the Persian camp for the win.

But the Persian bacon was saved, metaphorically and literally, by heroic cooks and servants who beat the hoplites off for several turns with frying pans and rolling pins! No successful looting for three turns in a row.

On the second-to-last turn, the camp was finally looted, but a unit of Immortals rallied for 1 BP - it was the only Persian unit on the map that could do so. That one BP gave me just enough time to finish shooting up some damaged hoplites and pikes, and get over the line.

Wait, does this mean the finals will be me against Jon, ANOTHER pair of Carthage versus Kyrene games? Excuse me for a moment, while I google suicide methods.

This is like the old Doctor Who series, Genesis of the Daleks, in which the Doctor arrives on a planet in which two races have been at war since forever.

Why can't Kyreneans and Carthaginians just get along? They could sit around a campfire, smoke some joints, sing John Lennon songs together ...
