Great game!

Pike and Shot has been on my wishlist for some time but I hesitated due to the "you go, I go" game play. Normally I greatly prefer simultaneous execution games. But when the sale showed up a couple weeks ago, I made the move. I decided to start with the earliest timeframe, so on with the Italian Wars. I really like the variety of troop types and the differing roles. The maps and troops look great. And the AI is tough. The skirmish battles are very challenging. After a few weeks, I am finally starting to win consistently on level 2. This is the best AI, I have played in many years. Considering the game covers 200 years, I can see playing this game for quite awhile. It is a lot of fun. I hope you have plans for some expansions covering earlier timeframes.

The only thing I would like to see added are commanders. Also I would be curious to see how a "we go" simultaneous turn execution system would work with the game but the "I go, you go" system really works well. So I was worried about nothing.

It's got generals too.

There is some medieval. I noticed the early HRE and Venetians in the extra nations Mod- which IIRC, were antagonists as part of the early Italian Wars. Although I don't think they actually fought a battle.

Well spotted! I missed them out of the Historical Opponents document, but they can still fight against each other in the mod.
