for the attention of Mr McNeil:
I tend to reinstall windows regularly (for security and performance reasons) but each time if i want to install all the dlc's and standalone's that i have bought i have to install 6 different large setup files including 6 different serial numbers and have to watch it overwrite mostly the same files each time one of the setups is activated and each one takes ages. And of course sometimes if you dont get the order right one of them doesnt work. Does anyone have a script or something that automates the process? as life is just too short to waste hours each time.
Surely it would be easy the next time you are doing a patch/update to do a new serial entry dialogue box in which you could enter all the serials you have and unlock ONLY the items you have bought/have the right serial for.

Re: ridiculous install
I still dont understand why people refuse to use Steam.
By using Steam you dont have to save any serial or whatever, just install the game and that is. I suggest to switch to the steam version.

Re: ridiculous install
1) I bought a windows operating system game not steam game.
2) I do not always have access to the internet.
3) I do not wish my details including my private game playing details and data spread all over the internet.
I still dont understand why some people love to surrender thier property and privacy to unknown others so those unknown others can profit from it.

Re: ridiculous install
I love Steam, but recently I had an experience where I was on a trip with no internet access and was unable to get Steam started in Offline mode (without internet access).Akkula wrote:I still dont understand why people refuse to use Steam.
The Panzer Corps exe will start without requiring Steam but it will be limited to the base game only and no DLC. Other games like Vietnam '65 and Unity of Command will not even start if Steam is not connected to the internet.
I see his point and I respect it.
Re: ridiculous install
I suppose it could be worse, i am sure there is someone out there who bought the DLC's seperately and has 14 serials/downloads to sort out/enter with another one when US corps comes out
so i shouldnt whinge about 6 or 7
In a sense it is a victim of its own sucess, I wonder when the first one was brought out if the developers had any idea how big, successfull and enduring it would get.

Re: ridiculous install
Well... You could manually backup and restore this:hugh2711 wrote:Does anyone have a script or something that automates the process? as life is just too short to waste hours each time.
-Non-steam game installation Folder (restore to same location!)
-Windows Registry entries in [HKLM\SOFTWARE\Slitherine\PanzerCorps]
-Optional: savegames and such in "My Documents\My Games\Panzer Corps"
