Battle of Kursk released and Eastern Front Updated!

Post by Daniele »

Today we are very excited to announce the release of Battle of Kursk - the first expansion of Battle Academy 2 – on PC, Mac and iPad!

Driven by two new challenging campaigns, this expansion includes a carryover system that invites you to have the wider strategic picture in mind when they plan their next turn. As the head of both armies, you will also have to quickly identify the strengths of the new units available to bring out the best of them.

Grab the game here!

But the news from the Ostfront are not over!

Battle Academy 2: Eastern Front base gameis updated to Version 1.0.4!

This version is available with several improvements and bug fixes! Now skirmish map generation scripts are in DATA/BATTLE/SCRIPTS (and this allows them to be over-ridden in a campaign for custom skirmish map generation) and the bug related to the sniper's animation is fixed.

Be sure to check the list of changes and bug fixes here!
You can download the patch from:
PC here
OSX here

Do you want more?
A terrific 50% launch discount is available on PC only! We are going to offer a free Steam key to anyone who bought a copy of the PC/Mac version from the Matrix Games or Slitherine store, once the game is available on this digital platform!

Get more information on Battle Academy 2 from its official product page.

I notice the Battle of Kursk update is available for a launch discount of 50%. Is it planned to do a similar deal for the base game of Battle Academy 2 / package of the two? I seem to remember something similar being offered a while ago for Panzer Corps and it's various expansions, for example. I don't have Battle Academy 2 at present but notice Steam have it for half price this week; their sale prices on Slitherine games usually tend to reflect offers on here - but seemingly not this time? Frankly I would rather buy it here ( even with the VAT and currency exchange rates etc.) rather than from Steam, but not at twice the Steam price!

I'm sorry that was a Steam mistake. What's only planned is to have a 50% discount on the expansion and not on the base game.
The error is now corrected.

Hi rmurchake,

Battle of Kursk is already available, but there is no direct link because this is an In APP Purchase (IAP). I invite you to check the availability on the game on your iPad directly.

Cheers,
Daniele

cant see anywhere in shop section where a 50% discount is available. Only 30% on any game as Easter Gift with the appropriate code. Is the former a spoof ?
I want to use the 30 % offer for another game purchase but would hate to miss out on a 1/2 price Kursk addition to BA2.

The price displayed in the Battle Academy 2: Eastern Front page, is including the 50% discount.

Hi,
I just purchased Battle of Kursk but how/when will I receive my Steam key? I own BA2 on Steam so can't just download and run the update from here - will I get an email soon?

SOLVED!

After a bit of searching I was finally able to figure out how to retrieve Steam keys - just enter your Serial Number at the page below:

thanks for the correction .Mea culpa, I was naive enough to assume that an add on for Battle Academy 2 would be the same price as that for an add on for Battle Academy and not twice the price.
I think that it would save the embarrassment of questions like mine, that you showed that the price quoted is at a discount and also for some indication of how long that discount would be in force.
This applies to all you offers, as twice in the last 18 months I have missed out on a discounted price for a game due to not being aware that it was either a discount or that there was a time limit.

Glad I found this thread since I did get the announcement but couldn't find any indication of where the expansion launch discount was being offered.

So $19.99 is the expansion normal price and $9.99 for launch, yes?

Think from what I remember Slitherine saying with carryovers is that it was really hard to do from a play balance standpoint when creating campaigns because it was impossible to know what a player would have left towards the end of the campaign.

Plus in overall campaigns like Barbarossa I would assume the scripting would be tough to have separate theatres carrying over ie Army Group A/B/C etc. For what it's worth I love the carryover system. Adds so much to the game, the stress level is heightened for sure.

Yes. :)
Apple just charged me $39.98, even though the in-app pop up asked me if I wanted to purchase it for $9.99. I have already contacted them, but has anyone else had this problem?

I just purchased Kursk and it appears to have downloaded and unzipped successfully. When I go into BA2 how do I activate the Kursk expansion?

After having installed the expansion (or the update 1.04), you need to move the cursor to one of the the Kursk campaigns on the Campaign menu, and click on the select button in the bottom middle of your screen.

In one of the following screens you'll be asked to insert the Kursk serial number. The Kursk campaign will then be unlocked
