Is there anyone in Pod 1 looking for a game?

I've got a slot open on my dance card.

First round game result:

rbodleyscott (French 1526-1549) (0%) won vs Dortmund (Spanish-Imperial 1534-1542) (59%)

A much closer game than the final result suggests. The French won the war of the skirmishers, but a massive push of pike in the centre with 20,000 men straining every nerve in a confused mass could have gone either way, and had it gone against the French would easily have eclipsed the trivial victories of the skirmishers. The result hinged on a French unit of landsknechts fighting on for several turns while disrupted, and the Spanish ones not doing so. (Pay perhaps overdue).

Gary, the tournament rules require the games to be played on Very Wide (32 square wide maps). Would you like to cancel and re-setup the challenges?

Deadtorius Ottomans 51% victorious over cavehobbit CatholicLeague 26%.

A most excellent game with one of the catholic raw later tercios holding out in melee for almost the entire game. It even managed to break one Ottoman cavalry unit. Second last turn had a sharp sweep in favor of the infidels as 4 or 6 Ottoman units broke and ran during that turn, only to see 3 of them rally back and the raw tercio finally broke and with it went the Catholic Leagues will to fight.
Initially I had my cavalry stacked on the opposite flank of the Catholics so had to spend the first 2 turns running across the map to get to where I could face off against the infidels. After that it was stand back shooting and let them charge me and swarm into them.
A very enjoyable game cavehobbit, thank you. That second last turn had me wondering if you were going to turn the tables into a win against me

Good game. Even though I was uphill most of the time it felt like I was struggling uphill... I was frustrated that my initial cavalry attacks on my left did not engaged your units in melee, instead your units fell back most of the time and you could continue shooting at me. One of those games you learnt a lot.

Our next game:
Royalist 1643-44 vs Parliament+Scots 1644-46
Both being infidels this time

I managed a win with my Italian Wars Spanish against rumguff French. I was lucky to resist with one of my keils long enogh to distract two of his, including one of the swiss ones, while I mainly fought the non-keil part of his army.

Thank you rumguff for the game. I will post new challenges son.

Hi Ian!

It seems that the password is incorrect. I've tried to put it in capitals too.

First round game result:

rbodleyscott (Imperial 1619-1632) (15%) won vs Dortmund (Danish 1625-1629) (49%)

This one was a very interesting battle which I could not begin to describe. Suffice it to say that the victory was down to the cavalry action, which allowed some of the Danish infantry also to be ridden down.
