Questions about race conditions/events
Some of these appear to be self explanatory, but I mentioned in the IOS thread, I am uncertain of the benefits/penalties of some of these, such as the one where it says your Auriga is too angry to shake the reigns and will use the whip instead. As I run across these, could as present them here, for further explanation? If the omission of such details in intentional, to keep players from "gaming" the system, I will understand, but I am the type who hates mysteries, when it comes to game mechanics!

Re: Questions about race conditions/events
That event forbids the use of the "shake reins" order, if you want to accelerate you can only whip!

Re: Questions about race conditions/events
Great game, fun and difficult. I really love the ability to play short and replayable games like this, congrats to the devs !
A few questions now.
Playing Russatas, I've been under the strong impression that one of my aurigaes always had bad results when accelerating. I mean : comparing him with other competitors with the same orders (shake/whip) and the same characteristics (experience, horse speed, chariot acceleration), I noticed that he always ended at the bottom of his group after the 3 initial moves.
I guess heavy chariots have a malus on acceleration compared to light chariots but is there another factor in the game ?
Likewise, I noticed with another team, Auratas, that one of the aurigas hurted very often his horses when he whips them, much more often than his fellows in the team.
In an Albata team, one of the aurigas seems to destroy chariots at an amazing rate. Even in straight portions of the circus, the wheels happens to break (three times in a a row ! Still alive though, lucky guy...)
That's why I've been wandering if there were hidden characteristics specific to each aurigae (some have a good acceleration, some don't know how to whip, some are too heavy for their chariot etc. ).
Is it the case or is it only me being paranoïd ?
Another question about saving aurigaes : in the last race of my Albata team, the auriga died. Playing a Normal Campaign/Static Turns (I've been Vae Victised after less than 25 races on the 2 epic campaigns I tried), I expected to see the 'save auriga' button and to pay 1000 denarii to have him back in the team. 1000 is what I paid the for another auriga some turns ago.
Unfortunately, no 'save' button showed and my auriga died for real. I had 1200 denarii left, so what happened ?

Re: Questions about race conditions/events
Acceleration is ruled by chariot quality (lighting upgrade), the Russatas do not have high quality chariots so they suffer from slow starts indeed. There are no other factor affecting acceleration, apart from the fact that the result is somewhat ramdomiced every turnHerode_2 wrote: Playing Russatas, I've been under the strong impression that one of my aurigaes always had bad results when accelerating. Laceration results are influenced by auriga skill. Surely this auriga have the two starts upgrade.Herode_2 wrote:Likewise, I noticed with another team, Auratas, that one of the aurigas hurted very often his horses when he whips them, much more often than his fellows in the team.
There is a probability of damage happening because of high speed that is increased when the chariot wheel's damage level rise. With light chariots, this probability could start happening very quickly, specialy if are paired with fast horses, which is the case for the Albata teamHerode_2 wrote:In an Albata team, one of the aurigas seems to destroy chariots at an amazing rate. No hidden characteristics at this game, at least not intentionally hiddenHerode_2 wrote:That's why I've been wandering if there were hidden characteristics specific to each aurigae (some have a good acceleration, some don't know how to whip, some are too heavy for their chariot etc. ).

Saving costs depends on auriga skills: high skilled aurigas are more expensive to saveHerode_2 wrote:Another question about saving aurigaes : in the last race of my Albata team, the auriga died.
