Core Units Not Carrying Over
I have just gone from Poland to Norway and it seems my core units are not carrying over from the Polish scenario. All the units state they were commissioned at the start of the Norway scenario. I am playing the Wehrmacht with 1.21 patch.
Is it necessary to play the tutorials to generate core units? I did play the tutorials, but not on this pc.
Any ideas would be most welcome. Thanks.

No you do not have to play the tutorial. Are you sure you started a campaign and not a single scenario?

Thanks for the prompt reply. I started with the Poland scenario intending to follow the timeline through each scenario. If I start with Fall Weiss will the game just follow on as I complete that campaign?

Yes. You need to start the campaign. The single scenarios are exactly this. They allow you to play any scenario with a predefined core. To be able to carry over you own core you need to start a campaign.durangokid wrote:Thanks for the prompt reply. Many thanks Tarrak, will go off and give Poland a hard time - again! One last question if you don't mind?
I have just finished the Norway scenario. I was on turn 17 of 25 and still had to capture the last northern port when the game just stopped and said Axis victory. What situation triggers a victory without having to take all the required objectives?

The only objectives you *have* to take are those with a shiny border around them, the 'victory hexes'. Once you've taken all of those, the scenario will end even if there are still lesser objectives held by the enemy.
If you want to continue a scenario to the bitter end and clear the map for extra prestige/experience, best way is to clear a victory hex, but don't occupy it until you're ready to end the scenario. Don't forget to keep a combat unit adjacent to the victory hex to stop the AI spamming a new army there.

Or in this case, the problem might be that 'the northernmost port' is Namsos...and the scenario victory conditions only require you to take all VH's 'except Namsos.' So to clear that map, you have to hold off occupying one of the southern VH's as above, until you've taken Namsos.
Re: Core Units Not Carrying Over
I don't remember exactly anymore, it's a while since i played the vanilla campaign last time, but in Norway i think to get a Minor Victory you need to conquer all victory hexes except the most northern one and to get Decisive Victory you need to conquer all victory hexes and having at least a certain amount of turns left. Now if you conquered everything except the most northern one but you do not have enough turn left to get a DV anymore i think the scenario ends prematurely and gives you a MV. If you miss a DV but want to use the remaining turns to clear as much of the map as possible just do not conquer one of the other victory hexes. Just clear it out of enemy units and let one of your units sit next to it so the AI can't buy anything there.

Thanks for the replies. I was a bit disappointed the AI gave in so quickly when the game wasn't over, but now I can see what happened and how to avoid that in the future. I rather like going to the end of the scenario. Or to the bitter end more likely!

You can also take that last hex within the time allotted to win a DV. I have a video up on that particular scenario, check my sig
