I would just like to say thank you for letting me into the beta, I recieved an email earlier. It's my first Beta where I have a real oppurtunity to test the game and report any issues/bugs, thank you for giving me the opportunity to help make this game fantastic!
Alas I am very tired tonight and won't be able to do an hour or so of Pandora at the present time, but I will add what I have noticied so far, and proceed to update this post when I play next.
Nimrod/Josh Thomson Beta Report 0.20
Installation Process
-No Windows 64-bit version?
-Avast does not like the 'PandoraServer.exe' asking me to allow the connection whilst updating. Had to exclude it from the virus check in the Avast settings.
First Impressions
-Starting screen, with the races and map size could possibly be a bit bigger on a 1920x1080 resolution.
-Start settings:
Faction-Solar Dynasty
World Size-Medium
World Shape-Random
Difficulty-Medium
Alien Aggressor-Medium
-Intro cinematic was started off stuttering a bit, when the camera zoomed over the planet and when the ships and the logo came in, there was tiny bit of stutter. After the cinematic continued to 'fly out of the ships hangar' the stutter had gone.
-After starting the game I realised the texture quality was low so had to quit out and change texture and shadow quality to high. Could texture quality, shadow quality and be auto-detected depending on your system hardware, or maybe an auto-detect button?
-The starting vehicle is currently on a mountainous tile, and is slightly clipping into part of the mountain.
-After pressing print screen to get an image of the clipping vehicle, it instead took a print screen of the Pandora title screen. I had to window the game and alt+print screen to capture it.
Just realised the screenshots go into appdata, disregard the print screen issue, however maybe we should be aware of the saved location when we press print screen in-game?
-Mouse edge scrolling feels too fast for me, I went into the settings to change 'Mouse scroll speed' but it regardless of the % speed I choose, the speed stays the same.
-Also the UI is beautiful and the futuristic font that is default is fantastic, it's great to see such a decent interface for a strategy game, a genre which desperately needs a top-notch UI to be manageable.
I have the game logs and saves into a .rar file, I also have the screenshot of the vehicle clipping but I cannot link them in this post as I get "Your post looks too spamy for a new user, please remove off-site URLs."

Here is the screenshot of the vehicle clipping

Turns out I just had to have at least one post before I could include links.

More reporting
Five Minutes Play
-A pop-up should come up after a city has been attacked rather than a small indicator above the end turn button.
-Ability to turn the camera around manually in the workshop
-Stacked units, e.g marine+former, you should be allowed to change unit by clicking on them. E.g, there’s a former building a mine with a marine on the same hex, clicking on the former selects it, clicking again on the former switches to the marine.
-Ability to queue up research with shift or ctrl needed
-A tooltip when a former is on a forested area and you can't build say a mine, because of the forest is needed. E.g, You hover over the greyed out 'build farm' icon and it says 'Cannot build farm on a forested tile'.
30 Minutes Play
-When in the workshop and editing the unit's name, the left and right arrows pan the camera, they should instead move the cursor for the unit name.
-ATV clips into mountain terrain
-No morale indicator at the top! Desperately needed

Re: Nimrod Beta Reports
Version 0.20.1
-Enter on both the keyboard and numpad should do next turn
-Food per turn, the [+1] sign could possibly change as you place more farmers into the slot, the same with the other resources, to give you a better idea of the amount of resource you will gain from the next turn.
-Possible issues with growth? Growing too fast and not enough food?
-Issues with habitation, Wendo apartments can only be built once, surely there should be other habitat buildings?
-Nowhere near enough things to research in the tech tree, or the research speed is too fast. I'm still on my first city and barely explored anything, yet I have researched a hell of a lot of techs.

Re: Nimrod Beta Reports
What i notice so far, each Tech Era got the same kind of buildings/Vehicles just with an improved feature and new names.-Issues with habitation, Wendo apartments can only be built once, surely there should be other habitat buildings?
The next Habitation after Wendo are Sky domes
You only see the next 2 tiers at the Tech tree, but there are alot more behind that. So long you see a line at the right side of the box there should be a following tech.Nowhere near enough things to research in the tech tree
But i think with the speed you are right, i just got 1 researcher at each city and just need 2-4 turns to research something.
Re: Nimrod Beta Reports
Ahhh that makes sense, if the rest of the tree is hidden. Fair enoughCanute wrote:You only see the next 2 tiers at the Tech tree, but there are alot more behind that. So long you see a line at the right side of the box there should be a following tech.
