Is there are way to change the difficulty mid campaign?

Is there are way to change the difficulty mid campaign through mods or cheats or any such matter? I restarted the campaign after being unable to get a decisive victory on dash to the wire so I restarted campaign with a lower difficulty. But now that I've disbanded all the Italian units, I now find the campaign too easy. I would really like not to have to restart yet another campaign because of this. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I could find no answer using the search function.

I don't think there is a way to change the difficulty level mid-campaign but...

I haven't tried this myself, so back up the file first:

In Panzer Corps\Data there is a file called diff.pzdat. If you edit that in a text editor and change the lower (current) settings to one of the higher settings (e.g. change all the Lieutenant columns to the Colonel values) then try it - it might work. I'm just not sure when this diff.pzdat file is read - at the beginning of each scenario, beginning of the campaign or dynamically.

I just checked: it is read at the beginning of the campaign, so no luck for StukaJU87.

The thing that can be changed on scenario-to-scenario basis, is prestige for finishing the scenarios (read from campaign.pzdat). But the AI level etc. - I guess it cannot be changed mid-campaign.
