Scythed Chariots

Haven't used them in a while and don't have my rule book with me ....

I know a destroyed/removed scythed chariot does not count as a BG lost (for victory conditions) but does it count towords the BG total at the start of the game?

Thanks (working on army lists here at work, don't tell)

Nope, but it counts towards the number of BG for deployment
