Too Many Polls?

Post by rkr1958 »

1. I'm seeing all these polls in the beta forum and I'm getting confused as to which ones are sanction by the developers and which ones are not. And if I'm getting confused I'm sure a lot of the other testers are too.

2. Any and all testers are welcomed to start a thread to discuss some aspect of the game as they see fit. But please lets hold off on making a poll until we agree that a change is warranted and will be made. In that case one of the developers will make the poll question themselves (usually Borger) or ask someone to make it. Let's call these sanction polls.

3. If you think a change needs to be made you need to start a thread so it can be discussed in detail by the testers (i.e., all of us). And once we reach a consensus we'll created a sanction poll question.

4. Creating a "unsanctioned" poll question is not only confusion but is really beginning to frustrate me. If you feel that a change is warranted then I think most of us need more than a one line yes/no poll question to understand why.

5. We are trying to get GSv2.1 out the door to the community by Christmas and as I see it the only changes we should make or even considering are ones that balance the game.

I've posed this question before and never received any feedback, so thought I'd put up a poll. If others think it is unworthy of consideration, let me know and I'll stop.

Now, if you had said, "Too Many Poles?", that would have been an interesting thread. :-)

Seriously, ship whenever you want! If you are looking for 'closure', I don't think you are going to get it from this forum. There will always be something that can be improved (or made worse).

Alternatively, do a poll to ask people on the forum if you should launch! That would be fun.

Sorry, I realized that the comment about 'too many poles' might have been in poor taste here, given the Axis habits of ethnic cleansing. I was thinking more in the vain of jokes about the Polish navy, etc. If any Poles were offended by my comment, I request their forgiveness, and would like to assure them that no Poles have been harmed in the making, or playing, of this game. Digital Poles have been wiped out in large numbers, of course, but that is another matter.

Quarrelsome beta testers can be Poles apart at times.

In Poland we have a saying: one Pole is two opinions and three political parties ;)
Never in the field of human conflict was so much owed by so many to so few.
