French offer armistice to Allies...

In a current PBEM game I am playing the Allies and it is August 1940.
I have just evacuated Paris to force the Axis player to make a decision
about whether or not to accept the French armistice offer.
At the completion of the turn, the armistice dialogue box pops up asking _me_,
the Allies, if I want to accept the armistice offer or not.

Will my "choice" (I have asked my opponent what he prefers)
be of any consequence?

I'm playing on a Mac (not sure if this is important).

I have just been informed by my opponent that this is a known bug that has been fixed in the beta.
