Some Questions
Hi, Just bought this game for the Xbox 360 and so far I am enjoying it. The guy at the store even told me "hey thi sis a History channel game so you might not want to buy it" I then stated that I did my research and it looked good so I am pleased. Do have some questions as I have tried to find answers but not much info on the net that I could find (if I missed it please point me in the right direction and apologies for starting a new thread)
1) When upgrading your troops I see some numbers for attack and general skills that add a +2 to melee in green numbers, however if I look at a different skill it would show a +2 in a yellow/gold color. What is the difference in the colors?
2) Also pertaining to the skills for the units specifically for archers I think the general skill was Bow proficiency which I purchased, the other in the Attack Skill was something like "nocking" which did not add and +2 to damage or anything but shows "-5 for nocking" I believe. Can someone tell me what exactly this is doing, does this mean they can fire arrows in a quicker interval? If so I just didnt know where I would see where the reload skill is so I can see the benefit.
3) Is there some guide or list of all the units I can look at? As well as weapons and armor?
4) I think I have finished the first 2 campaign missions as the English and have done numerous raids (the same map against peasants during the first scenario) and any other optional missions however I think I am on the 3rd campaign area and I still only have the first raid of the countryside against peasants mission avail. The issue is that I never get many kills on that map (maybe around 100) and it doesnt raise XP of units nor does it yield much Gold (usually I only get anywhere between 100-200 gold per mission and I think only 100 gold for the raiding of the peasants mission) Just want to know if there will be other areas that I can "grind" on to level my guys a little quicker.
5) How high in level can your troops go?
6) For each level your units go up do they only get +1 skill point to use or do they get more per level?
These are just some questions I have, would appreciate any help and thanks again.

Glad you are enjoying it
1) The colour shows if the new value is higher the same or lower. Green is better, red worse.
2) Nocking reduces the reload rate making them fire faster
3) Try the army designer for skirmish mode/multiplayer - you can access all units, equipment and skills here
4) If you complete the story missions the options will change.
5) No technical limit.
6) Skill points are 2 per level I think though later you can get more, maybe 3.

Thanks Ian,
Having a blast with the game, already did the tournament battle and am on like battle 13 or 14, just completed the one where you have to kill the French noblemen with only your general and an archer and am already passed Poiters and unlocked the ability for my Cavalry to have Plate with Mail armor and also unlocked the Bardiche Axe (sp?) however I have one big issue: My cavalry have no Lances. They can get regular spears, cutting swords, hammers, war hammers, estoc sword, club, (I think the mace and axe/battle axe as well) but no Lances.
I saw in a previous post there might be some sort of bug, I do all the side missions (and some I do numerous times) and seems like I am getting all the battle cards on the missions as I have never seen any (?) after the battle report, can someone tell me when I unlock the Lance. My Cavalry also has the Lance and Master Lance proficiency skills as well, but would like to actually equip them with Lances. Also tried to buy new Cav to see if that pops the Lance but no lock. Any help would be great, Thanks as it seems I am on like campaign mission 13 out of 18 and not much more to go. Thanks

I think that it's the case that in the English campaign you only unlock the lance if you do particularly well in a side mission around level 13 (1370 Lussac) - that was the case for me anyway.
To be fair, this is representative of the historical truth. Traditionally, melee weapons like axes were favoured by English knights and they often fought on foot. If you want lances then the French campaign is better suited for this.

There might still be some hope I just checked today and actually I am on battle 12 after just playing the side mission where I was surrounded (or something to that effect). I wish there was a guide somewhere that shows what you unlock and when. Also in the side battle I picked up some starvation battle card.
I know the battle cards give some description but hard for me to tell exactly what they do. Sometimes not sure if Good Omen, vs Inspiration Rhetoric, vs some other morale increasing battle card which one exactly gives the higher bonus. Either way still loving the game

This is what the team could find:
Setup Cards
Rain Shower - Affects all squads, friend and foe: Range -1, MissileAttack decreased
Prevailing wind - Range +1, MissileAttack increase for all player archers
After the rain -
Dazzle - Lowers target missiledefence and defence
Caltrops - Placed on tile, damages passing units - especially cavalry
Rabbit warren - Placed on tile, damages passing units - especially cavalry
The flux - Lowers all enemy squads performance
Plague - First kills random amount of men in each enemy squad, then after X minutes it starts weakening player units, then kills random amount of units in player squads. Result is that if the player takes too long to beat the weakened enemy army the plague will spread to his army and start killing his own men. It's a strong battlecard so it has to have a catch.
Starvation - Slightly weakens all enemy squads
Looting - removes random enemy unit from battle,
Well fed - Slightly strengthens all player squads
Drunk - target unit defence decrease, moves around randomly for a while
Good omen - Small Morale bonus for all player squads
Bad omen - Small Morale penalty for all enemy squads
Inspirational Rhetoric - Strong Morale & attack bonus for all squads within 1 tile distance of the target squad
In Battle Cards
Battle Cry - Attack boost for target unit
Stand Fast - Defence boost for target unit
Rally - Shaken or Routed unit back to Steady
Vengance - Attack bonus + defence penalty for target unit
Taunt - All enemy squads within 2 tiles distance AND NOT in melee get defence decrease + random chance of attacking the target unit. Target unit also gets defence & missiledefence decrease
"Target at the Horses"- attackbonus & missileattack bonus VS cavalry
"Receive their charge" - defencebonus VS cavalry
"Aim for the weakspot" - Very short very high attack bonus
"Kill the leader" - Kills 1 soldier from target unit (that unit must be in melee) + sets state to shaken
Sudden panic - Routs target squad + sets all squads within 2 tiles to Shaken
Bad Luck - TBD
Good fortune - TBD
"Take cover" - MissileDefence bonus
