1. This is my first opportunity to play test a new game and I thank you for that opportunity.
2. My first impression of the game was that it looked a lot like an older game I used to play called Panzer General; I believe it was a MicroProse game.
However, Panzer Corps is extremely better with it’s very defined maps and easily understood UI.
I did notice that in the Panzer Corps Betav0.99 the tutorial screens were much more prevalent, where in Panzer Corps Beta0.999 they came up less frequently. If I hadn’t already played the lesser version it may have been difficult to figure out. The game is very addicting and easy and fun to play once you understand the user interface.
3. Performance Game too slow- Performance seemed to be a hair fast on my computer, playing with default settings.
b. Problems Experienced-I encountered no problems with the game, either installing or playing it. I have yet to try the multiplayer option.
c. System Configuration-Dell Inspiron 530, Quad 2.4 processors, RAM 3.0 GB, ATI Radeon HD 3600Microsoft Vista Home Premium, Service Pack 2 Build 6002
4. Usability, UI of Main Screen – Very easy to understand and tutorial in Beta0.99 very helpful in understanding interface.
b. Clear how to control game- Tutorial very helpful in Beta0.99, not so in Beta0.999
c. UI Convenient-Yes, easy to understand
d. Existing Mouse interface-Easy to use and understand
e. Any missing information in UI or Sidebar, Map view- in side bar an indication of a button that is not available, like a red border, would be helpful
5. PBEM-Haven’t tried yet

Crash problem when purchasing new units
I have noticed twice now a game crash or freeze when playing the achen scenario under .999 update. I deployed units from the previous campaign scenario (Norway) enter then begin game. Made all the moves I wanted then went to purchase new units and the game crashes at that point. It has happened more than once so I think their maybe a clitch there.

Great game so far.
Despite the crash as mentioned earlier. The game is pretty neat and the improvements are on the right track. I did not need the arrow tracking my move and some of the other enhancements were more eye candy than real game issues. I have been really busy and not able to give the game the time I would like. However, it is a good game with good enough graphics to keep one interested. It is the first real turn base game in awhile that does not take a rocket scientist to play or pick up on. Kind of like the Panzer General with some interesting refinements. I will continue to play a few more scenarios and see about the modding feature that is included here. Hope that this helps some.

Did you use saved game from a previous version? If yes, check out this topic:CactusWillie wrote:I have noticed twice now a game crash or freeze when playing the achen scenario under .999 update. I believe it was from the new saved scenarios
Just to be sure I will remove all older campaigns and start again. Let you know if it crashes. Love the game though. So it's not a pain to start over.

Much improved
The changes in the latest release really add to the game. I continued my in progress campaign that I started under the previous release. I've encountered no issues. I really like the enhancements. The SS units add to the richness of the game. The rail guns are also a very nice feature. I've found that the Stukas are not as devastating in PzC as they were in Pz1 and Pz2 I (especially against tanks). I've attacked JSIIs with them in good weather and there is virtually no effect! My Panthers don't fare to well against them either. Good thing there are King Tigers.
The only thing that I've noticed that is odd is that when clicking on the strategic map, you don't seem to go exactly where you clicked. This was very noticeable in the previous version. It's better in .999, but still seems slightly off.
All in all, this game is coming along great. Can't wait to see the next release. Until then, I'll continue testing.

Re: Much improved
Even the Ju-87g the Tank Killer do often very low damage on Tank Units ... in the Next Campagain i will only use Fighters, Levelbombers, and Tactical Bombers with active air attack ... actually i am in the USA, 2nd Scenario and the Ju87er are not so effective like the other units ... so next time i will not buy thembillmv44 wrote:The changes in the latest release really add to the game. Comments on this version of Beta
Better than ever!!
Since the start of the Beta, it seems that the AI is much better - no loner doing the "dance of death" as units foolishly chase the wounded unit and needlessly expose themselves.
I like the ability to tailor your forces in each scenario. I've done well with a good mix of air and land units, but the weather option can, as it should, really bite your battle plans in the tailpipe!
I haven't read all of the posts, so these may be answered, but:
1. if I have reserve units, and I've taken losses so that I have an opening in core units, it seems like I should be able to use a reserve unit rather than purchase new ones. How do I do this?
2. The strategic map in later scenarios (Moscow instead of Kiev, East Coast USA) I see the deployed units in both air and surface picture, but unlike previous scenarios the background is completely black. By design or is this a bug?
3. Some air units look like they should have a capability vs land units, but seem to not have an effect at all.
4. There is a change in the color of the numbers at the base of units as they are attacked, but I can't find what it means. I've seen the numbers change color based on a successful attack (I'm assuming a morale or other adverse effect) and then a subsequent attack in the same turn changes it back to the original color.
5. I'm not sure how victory margins are calculated, nor what the effect is on subsequent scenarios. Is the difference between a decisive victory and a marginal one based on how quickly the victory hexes are taken, or just if they are? Do losses figure in?
Overall, I really like the game.

After having played the game for about 3 weeks, I have a last-minute comment (as I know it's getting to be last minute.)
But I really think this needs some help - at first I thought I could eventually get used to the unit attribute icons, but after 3 weeks I still find myself having a hard time finding the stat I want. I think we could really use more recognizable icons.
I don't really know what to suggest again, but somebody's got to have an idea.
EDIT: How do I find info on terrain? Modifiers, movement, etc...
