Purchase Unit Issue - Only Affects New User Sanity

Using Tutorial 3 to illustrate. At the start of the scenario the 4 hexes where purchased units can "appear" are occupied by other units. The Purchase Unit function is enabled and a unit can be selected and the Purchase button clicked. The view returns to the map and nothing happens except the Prestige value is shown to be reduced by the cost of the unit. You can go back into Purchase Unit and apparently purchase another with no further change. When any of the exiting units is selected on the map the Prestige value display is restored to its correct value.

Presumably the correct behaviour is that the Purchase Unit option should not be enabled if no units can be purchased due to lack of any available deployment hex.

This has no effect on gameplay but can be confusing/annoying for a player new to the game who will not know where the deployment hexes are and will thus not realise that them being occupied is (presumably) the cause of the failure of the Purchase Unit function to do anything.

Good point. Actually, purchase screen should still be available, because the player may want to check out available units and their stats. But Purchase button should be disabled, and ideally, a message should tell the player that it is disabled because there are no deploy slots available.

Couldn't we actually purchase unit to deploy them at a later time when hexes become available?

I agree totally, units purchased that don't fit immediately should be available for later without costing again. I ran into that and it was very annoying. Also, it would be helpful to be able to remove/change a units location duing the deploy stage. More than once I have looked at one unit and placed it only to realise that another unit was actually selected and I can not do anything about it! Not a glitch but it would be nice.

You can right-click on a deployed unit during the deploy stage to un-deploy it.

I don't agree with buying units in advance and keeping them for future deployment. First, I might forget to deploy them later on, and second what if I never get the chance to deploy it or want a different unit later? There's really no advantage to buying in advance as you could buy it later when you could deploy it.

I don't see how this is useful. As long as a unit is not placed, you don't benefit from it in any way, but prestige is already spent, and you can't spend it on other things (replacements, upgrades) any more. So, we only support purchase with instant placement. Units do not get more expensive over time, so you can as well keep the "purchased" unit in the form of prestige.
