Can't seem to run CEAW Grand Strategy

Help, I've just discovered CEAW Grand Strategy and downloaded and installed it. When I try to run the shortcut from the new CEAW Grand Strategy folder it says..looking for java.exe. Obviously I've done something wrong! The old shortcut starts the original CEAW 1.12 version. I've read the PDF file for grand strategy and it sounds nifty, but I can't seem to get it to run.... I even tried to copy/paste the java.exe from the original jre/bin folder but it still brings up the old CEAW game. What have I done wrong? I haven't played the game since '09 and this looked like a good diversion until Commander Great War comes out.

This happens often when the default installation path is used for the GSv1.06 installer. Uninstall GSv1.06 and then reinstall it but this time change the installation path to the directory where your installed the vanilla game. Your path will be different by my path is:
C:\Program Files\Slitherine\Commander - Europe At War

No this isn't the problem. The Grand Strategy patch was installed to the correct folder
D:\Commander Europe at War\CEaW Grand Strategy...that's where the shortcut was installed as well as the Grand Strategy
Manual PDF.
But when I click on the shortcut, it says "looking for java.exe"
I noticed there is not a jre subfolder in the CEaW Grand Strategy folder..did I need to install an earlier version
of Grand Strategy or something like this????

No previous version is required. I would suggest that you uninstall and reinstall. The folder size after install should be about 546MB. That would include the vanilla game, which is about 211 MB. If your final install is significantly less than 546 MB (e.g., 200 to 300 MB) then the installation was not correct.

Problem solved. Installation was not completed...lots of stuff happens from comand prompt, which was interrupted by my clumsy hands.
Running fine now. Thx for your help!
