Jordi's first impressions

- Performance. Is the game too slow on your PC? If yes, what problems exactly you experience, and what system configuration do you have?

The game is not slow in my PC and I am using a quite old machine (under Windows XP - Intel Core Duo with 2GB RAM).
Perhaps when I am looking at AI movements and attakcs it is too much fast to get an idea of what is actually happening.

- Map graphics: the terrain map and the units. What did you like or not like. What could be improved?

Terrain is a little dark in my opinion. I would prefer it a little lighter to identify units better. The eyes get a little tired if you play for a long time.
Rivers are not very clearly seen. Sometimes I only found out it was a river when I could not go through it.

- Usability and UI of the main screen. Is it intuitively clear how to control the game? Is the UI convenient? Do you like the existing mouse interface, or would you prefer a different one? What useful information do you miss in the UI sidebar or the main map view?

Range and Spotting of a unit should be included in the main characteristics that are seen when you place the mouse on it (w/o having to activate the “info” option)
Date, Turns and Prestige are not very easy to see.
Game control is intuitive although I am a veteran PG player so this should be better to ask to an absolutely naïve player.
When I tried to see the tactical map I get only a black screen.

- Game rules. Please note that at this point game rules are not final. We are still thinking about some aspects, and we'll change and tweak some things as we test the game. However, any opinions on what you see in the game now, and what could be improved, are very much welcome.

I think rules are good enough. Perhaps in the odds (and also in the unit strength itself) it could be included the suppressed units (perhaps in blue).

- Tutorial campaign. The first beta only includes the six tutorial scenarios and the tutorial campaign. When complete this will have prompts to aid the user but it would be good if we knew which areas of the game needed the most helpers and prompts so can you tell us which parts you did not understand so we can focus on explaining those.

It was pretty clear in my opinion.

Is it because of text size, or the meaning of these numbers is not clear? Will it help if there is a tooltip explaining what they mean, appearing when you hover these numbers?

PS. I wonder what you think about the new editor included with the game. :) Any thought on this?

No, text size is ok. I mean is a little confusing.

Turns are set up like a clock for instance 05:12 that menas you are in turn 5 out of 12 but looks like a time.
Then prestige is in the other side w/o any explanation. Then you can face someting like 05:12 - 1943 that looks like the battle is set in Dec 5th 1943.
