I am hoping that things should be significantly better on the snow front by Friday though.

But is there any heating!! For those who did not attend the last Northern round (2 weeks ago) was in a hall with no heating all day.

I am assured that there is heating. There was an issue a couple of weeks ago when Darren discovered that if he wanted to use the building's heating system he would have to heat the whole mill 7 days a week at a cost of over £1000 for the month :O He borrowed a big parafin space heater for a tournament last weekdend and all went well so he has now bought one which was delivered yesterday.

James can we keep to this schedule as I must be back in the hotel, showered and out again before 'Strictly' starts or Mrs. A is going to slam my gonads in the bathroon door!!

Quick heads up that I may not be able to make this weekend, or all of it, after all - combination of lurgy and work

So if I'm not there Saturday morning don't delay on my account as it probably means I'm at home - this may also help Bob's gonads remain away from the bathroom door ...

I intend to keep as closely to the times as possible. Games will finish at the end of the current phase and I think I have managed to get some software to help me sort out the complexities of the Sunday draw.

OK, I'm a definite no show I'm afraid    Hope it doesn't cause any problems.

In case anyone thinks "Thank God, that's one less Dom Rom" I'd point out that my list was not of the morally bankrupt variety 8) For the record it was:

3 TC

4 Average Equites sagittarii
4 Poor Slingers
2 x 4 Superior IF, SSw Legionarii + 2 LF
1 x 4 Superior LtSp, Sw lEGIONARII + 2 lf
3 X 4 Average Auxilia + 2 LF
4 Superior Equites Alani
4 Superior Hunnic mercenaries (as Unprot Cv)

Hope everyone has fun.

I think things went well enough. In the end we had 24 players for FoG 15 on both days with 8 FoG:R on Saturday and 4 FoG 25 on Sunday plus 6 DBMM players both days.

Richard Colins won FoG:15 on Saturday, Ian Stewart won on Sunday
Alasdair Harley won FoG:R and FoG 25
Ian Austin won DBMM on Saturday, John Fletcher won DBMM on Sunday

Ian won a Warlord Games 28mm ECW army for best Saturday performance
Alasdair won a Warlord Games 28mm Roman army for best Sunday performance

Alasdair won best general overall so with the other prizes he picked up his kids may end up looking like a bag of pick'n'mix sweets :)

Geoff Pearson won the Magister Militum army door prize on Saturday and then won it again on Sunday but generously declined a second free army so after a number of redraws because people seemed to have lost their tickets the Sunday door prize eventually went to Keith Martin Smith.

I will definitely run the event again next December and might run an event in the same format in June or July depending on what else is in the calendar.

Alasdair feels that it would be great to try 25mm FoG:R as well so get dusting off those old Gush figures or painting the new plastics.

Thanks to all the players, see you again next time.

Yes but not till tonight.

There are a couple of games where the scores don't add up to 20 or 25 so I need to check the scoresheets.

Hi All, :D
A very big thank you to Hammy for running this event over the weekend, had 3 very good games on the Saturday in the FOG 15mm and on the Sunday 3 amazing FOG games in 25mm using starter armies only and 40mm = 1 MU and 15mm deployment on a 6ft by 4ft tables and it works very well.

I would like to see this taken up in other 25mm FOG competitions next year, hope to be there next year playing in 25mm FOG or 25mm FOGR. :D

Hi everyone

Thanks Hammy for a great weekend and all my opponents. Also a special thanks to everyone that played against my son. It was great that you all eased him through his first games in a competition. He is eager for another 650 pointer so he will have lots of time to practice.

Catch you all soon.

Rob
