Points for fragmented troops choosing to evade off table?

Post by Robert241167 »

Hi everyone

This has come up a couple of times in games now with differing answers.

If a BG of fragmented troops pass a test not to break when charged but then choose to evade off table is it 2 attrition points? 1 for being fragmented and 1 for evading off table?

Thanks

Rob

Thanks Nik

It first came up against Bob Amey at Britcon where he was trying to give me 2 attrition points but I only wanted to take 1 from him. In the end I backed down and took both attrition points.

That Bob can be really persuasive at times.

To be fair to Bob the rule as written could be read either way

Hamilton's fault. He had convinced me that it was only 1. Years later Si told me different, at which point having passed the CT I should have decided to stay on table whilst evading with very little chance of being caught, but didn't, d'oh.

I had a spirited end of game conversation on this with an opponent last year. since his unit evaded off, he wanted it to be 1 point, but I argued it was two. Voices were raised, umpires called and so forth. Unfortunately my fun was spoiled after ten minutes when he realised that due to a quirk of the scoring it made no difference to the game score...
