Cancel Artillery?

I see there is a cancel option next to the artillery strike icon (when placed on the map). How the heck do I use it? The 'x' to cancel is usually unclickable.
Same thing for bombers.

Apparently I've been highlighting one square off (ie I was clicking on the icon on the map..instead of the square below it).
Never mind...nothing to see here...move along.

I was doing the same thing for a while too

I couldn't figure it out. For others puzzled

Click the bonus icon
Move your mouse to the target square below the floating bonus icon
The x should turn red and allow you to click it

This whole Cancel Art/Air issue is a bit messed up. I had some troubles with it in the past. Maybe fixing it in future patch to something a bit more straight forward would be nice.
