I agree...and might see some battles where one side just tries to delay and save as much as possible before they can slink away in the dark...or...if you want to save on battles where one side is greatly outnumbered, then give them a % loss for having tried to work their way through an area filled with enemy troops.

re: Loans and When
From the rules:
"5. Pay Upkeep
-
- Take loan up to the maximum allowed for Kingdom.
UPKEEP COMPLETED (If you need to know your treasury amount just PM me)."
Maybe add in to that line "only in winter income phase"???...I think that's where I saw loans mentioned and thought I could take them out at the end of any season.

I think we have this already, although its not really spelled out in the rules. I have started rolling random for such things as who moves first etc during the simul movement phase. It has added some uncertainty, and helped with the multi army battles. So it will be easy to use in this regard for armies trying to run off.ianiow wrote:Not wishing to heap pain on my ally, but I think it would be a good rule that if two armies meet in a province and the smaller army wishes/is forced to retreat, there should be a % chance of the larger force cutting off their retreat and forcing a battle. Otherwise larger forces will spend the whole game chasing ghosts back and forth.Scar wrote:Hi Guys:
We are waiting on one last retreat, then we can continue to the next phase.
I am going to allow England to retreat their army from Toulouse to Gascony, although the rules would require their elimination, as the territory is not "controlled" by France. The interpretation we will use going forward, its that for the elimination, the province must be controlled by the enemy (ie a different color disk) not just occupied by an opposing army. They will have to move again next turn, or take refuge in the castle, and not be allowed to recruit.
Thanks.

Naw, the events stuff is mostly just for some historical flavor. Although the Pope can excommunicate you, and do stuff to your kingdom, like when the French had to pay back some money that was intended for the crusades several seasons ago.Blathergut wrote:Scar...the events...the stuff about the pope...has that any bearing on the game somehow? Might we see a pope army suddenly appear or something?
re: Hainault...I assume all that meant he's joined the English?
Hainult is as far as I can tell still nuetral. I think the house is ruled by a much absent baron, as we have not heard much from Hainult. He must enjoy hunting and fine dining more than taking up the sword.

No, there is no "movement" during the winter, and it takes a movement to conduct a siege or pillage. So to do this, you would need to start at the latest the Fall.Blathergut wrote:Scar:
If I move into an enemy province in the Fall, and begin my seige in Winter, does that reduce the enemy income that Winter Income Phase by 350sm?
