GS Allied navy questions

Post by ftgcritt2 »

It appears as though the Allied navy has done some restructuring, with France getting a much larger navy and Britain getting a smaller one (almost nothing in the Med). I tried to look in the GS manual for an explanation, but the "overview and changes" file wouldn't load. Can someone please explain to me how the Allied med naval presence is supposed to work in GS?

The UK navy in the Med "shows" up at the time of Italian activation. They get a DD, BB, CV and sub. When Egypt & Iraq activates the UK gets another BB in the Persian Gulf.

By the way, the official installer by Slitherine installs the manual.

The reason this was done was to prevent the Allies from emptying the Med before Italy joins the Axis. We know that Italy won't join the Axis until June 1940, but the real Allies didn't know that and kept their navy in the Med to protect Egypt, Algeria, Tunisia and convoys coming from the far East.

A BB arrives in Basra with 2 corps units when Iraq joins. Those units were sent from the Far East to stop the Iraqi Axis insurrection and help the British in Egypt later. The corps units were Indian and Australian.

That is the link that I have been trying. Every time I click on the "changes and overview" section, it tries to download it and then gives me an error message that says "the file is damaged and cannot be repaired"

I bet you're using Firefox. That is exactly what happens to me too. I've found that the download works with Internet Explorer. I knew I kept IE around for some reason. :D
