Re: Storm Over Europe: Redux
Hi, just a very tiny detail I've noticed.
If Schnack senior is a Brigadefuhrer in 1940, he should have two oak leaves and a pip on his patch. (This changed in 1942 to three leaves).
Oberfuhrer had two leves.
One oak leave is Standartenfuhrer (colonel).
Not trying to nitpick - maybe you'll want to fix it in some time in the future. Overall very good stuff !

Re: Storm Over Europe: Redux
Just wanted to say that this series is great. First class work. Still playing in Spain but it's wonderful stuff, I am truly digging the story thus far. I have made a few scenarios for the Battlefront Combat mission series, and I have to say I can't wait if this series takes us into the Eastern Front. I like the new hero's to the Campaign, I think they can be immersive etc. What I would like to see from the mod community is some new Luftwaffe Special paint Schemes, like KG51 "Edelweiss", KG-54 Totenkoph", and other various JG (fighter) Stg squadrons-Sturzkampfgeschwader 1 for example. Nght figters etc. Not sure why but Slitherine, etc neglected the very main branch of the game. Anyways many thanks to all that have put this campaign together. Sehr gut gemacht, tolle Arbeit!
Re: Storm Over Europe: Redux
The aerial battles over England are very demanding. While the use of auxiliary fuel tanks allows for effective planning, the flight distances are quite long. You’ll need to be careful!
Do you already have an idea or a roadmap for what comes next?

Re: Storm Over Europe: Redux
Hi,
I believe that at the start of "Wings over Britain," you can purchase 2-star (experienced) fighters.
1. I bought 8–10 of these and use them as bait to lure out British fighters.
2. Purchase or convert enough Bf 109 F fighters to match the number of good pilots (heroes) you have. They have an Initiative of 7, and you can equip them with "Drop Packs."
3. I also have a squadron of Fw 190s, which I received as a reward at one point.
I use these fighters to gradually take down the enemy.
4. To protect mine-laying aircraft or other units, I advance slowly, waiting until there are very few enemy fighters left.
5. I position one of my own fighters—ideally one with abilities like "repeated supporting fire" or similar—in the center, surrounded by as many tactical bombers, long-range level bombers, and reconnaissance aircraft as possible. This makes it difficult, if not impossible, for the enemy to attack that fighter.
6. You can also lure the enemy by, for example, moving a unit (such as a 2-star tactical bomber) toward them, with one of your own fighters—equipped with camouflage—positioned right behind it.
7. For your own fighters, traits like "Double Move," "Phased Movement," and "Readiness" are also very useful.
This tactic should help you get through the upcoming air battles.
I am currently at the "Adlertag: Thames" stage.
Greetings

Re: Storm Over Europe: Redux
thanks. r u using the medium. long range or both tanks on you fighters? also did you try to disable the docks at Portsmouth?
Re: Storm Over Europe: Redux
You can always purchase auxiliary fuel tanks later in any given scenario.
Depending on the map—whether for fighters, level bombers, or tactical bombers—the initiative value doesn't really matter in those cases.
I’ll deal with port facilities and other such targets later, once there aren't many enemy fighters left.

There is a roadmap.
Re: Storm Over Europe: Redux
Hello Generals,
Throughout the past few years, I hope you have come to expect well thought out campaigns, that are capable of being a challenge even on lower difficulties (the campaign is balanced around general difficulty). There have been a few clamors for truly updating the Spanish Civil War campaign, and mostly I have resisted those calls. It felt daunting. It felt like there were not enough models to represent all the aircraft, armored cars, tanks, etc. As Gauntlet and I worked on 1940 Part 2, the itch to update the SCW campaign became difficult to ignore.
Today, I'm going to share with you part of the work that has been completed on a true Spanish Civil War campaign to receive full "Redux" experience similar to 1939 and 1940 Part 1.
The way the new campaign will start is you will receive an option to participate one of four cities for a coup. They are Madrid, Malaga, Barcelona, or Valencia. You can only participate in ONE of these battles and each battle is going to reward unique equipment. These scenarios will be designed to be difficult but while you may manage to secure the objectives, narratively you will lose.

Barcelona

Madrid

Malaga

Valencia
Madrid, which will be the most difficult scenario, will offer a lot of prestige for completing objectives. In addition, by holding the elite objective you will receive an extra unit of infantry and engineers that will transfer over into the 1939 campaign.
Malaga will offer a handful of prestige, a Spanish marine unit that will transfer over into 1939 campaign and a second chance to capture the battleship Jaime I.
Valencia will offer a handful of prestige, a cavalry unit that will transfer over into 1939 and a chance to secure an early shipment of Russian equipment.
Barcelona will offer a handful of prestige, a mountain unit that will transfer over into 1939 and bonus equipment dependent on which core you have chosen.
This campaign has no official release date, but there will be plenty of new and exciting rewards that should make it worth playing. It will not be required to play as you can simply continue on with the campaign from previous saves.

The Bombing of Berlin.
After shooting down the 3rd enemy bomber, I’m presented with a choice, but I don’t seem to get the Japanese aircraft—why is that?
After the battle, I receive 2 error messages:
"Bad String 150" in a message box?
Greetings
