Jtrillodmp with Hafside,
defeated
Maeglyr with Carthaginians
54-24
A classic battle fought in an extended formation, with infantry in the centre and cavalry on the flanks, in which the Berbers demonstrated the greater flexibility of their army and the superiority of their light units, as well as their veteran spearmen in the front line.

Rosedelio (Persian) defeats rockmanbob123 (Timurid) 56-4
The Persian sparabara and Immortals had enough rough ground to hold and win a shootout against the Timurid horse archers.

Rosedelio (Timurid) defeats rockmanbob123 (Persian) 50-19
The Timurid horse archers were able to move around and shoot down the Persian cav before flanking the sparabara hiding in the rough ground.
This should be my last game. Thanks for Maeglyr for hosting!

#7 The Fate of Iran
Chris Townsend defeated Solemnace with both the Timurids (61 to 36) and the Persians (a narrow 60 to 55).
The appropriately sandy terrain was dominated by a large stream between the two armies, with the Persians able to deploy their bowmen on the elevated banks on their side, and still have a few units left for a cavalry reserve.
As the Timurids, I opted for the direct approach, organizing fire power (handgunners, best equipped cavalry, archers and artillery on my own right flank hills to blast my way across the stream with a few irregulars to protect the guns, some archers in a central enclosure and a body of cavalry to threaten any Persians that tried to advance on the other flank. I did get across, but then found I had to recross to deal with the Persian centre that had counter attacked in the middle, eventually getting to my guns and archers. In the end, the ability to bleed cavalry from the unengaged flank into the central fight faster than the Persians could shift their infantry probably won the battle.
Solemnace's Timurid plan made much more creative use of his greater mobility and the reduced LOS rules. He sent skirmishers (horse and infantry) wide around my left flank, making me anticipate the main attack there. He then sent his main force (entirely cavalry) wide around my right flank, and was able to cross the stream in force before I could organize a defence. Fortunately, I was able to eventually pick off the skirmishers and gradually reinforce my make shift line perpendicular to the stream. Luck went my way - Solemnace's plan really deserved to win.
Both good games.

The berber's cavalry prove once more their superiority. Elephants ? Ha ! Dodge them !
The fearsome muslim's swordsmen had some salt on them. Carthage won't raise again.

#1 The Holy Eternal City
Overwhelming hegemony of the Pope against the Emperor. Gold and steel resisted the pilums, and even the Praetorians had to bow before the Holy See. Definitely the most unbalanced derby in the League!

#3 Time Crusade
Chris Townsend Somehow managed to defeat Maeglyr in both sides of this mirror match between Crusaders and the Syro-Canaanites.
The map was nicely sandy with a large central area of enclosures on the Crusader side, with a hill to their right and mixed terrain to their left. The Syro-Canaanites had their own hill opposite the Crusader hill, plus a big hill in their centre that never saw any fighting.
As the Crusaders, I chose to defend the enclosures with spearmen and pavisier, and occupy the hill with archers and cross bowmen, sending my central reserve of Turcopoles to counter the chariot attack on my left. The Syro-Canaanaites attacked everywhere. I lost the central gap between the enclosures, but successfully destroyed the force attacking my right hand hill, and eventually managed to get my infantry moving on my left. Result - my Crusaders won 60 to 31.
With a similar force, Maeglyr choose to advance out of the enclosures (which, often being downhill, can be a double edge sword if spearmen are asked to counterattack from an enclosure). I again defended my hill, lost the centre, and my chariots eventually triumphed on my right flank. Result - my Syro-Canaanites won 60 to 47.
Tremendous credit to Maeglyr for choosing to attack on both sides of the mirror.

Jtrillodmp with Crusader,
defeated
Roackmanbob123 with Syro-canaanites
60-34
The Syro-Canaanites’ strategy of fielding a large force of medium infantry, supported by light units, and concentrating them on the rough terrain enabled them to hold out for longer, but gradually the Crusaders’ infantry, supported by their crossbowmen and heavy cavalry, wore down their resistance. The chariots were halted by the combination of cavalry and pavisiers and were unable to alter the course of events.

#5 Trading post's Illiade
The Trojans obtain temporal hegemony by very little, in points.
Genoa will have to find another territory to secure its Crimean colonies.

#6 Ride on the Nile
Chris Townsend defeats VukTeble in both sides of the mirror.
The appropriately desert terrain had rough, steep hills on both of a (mostly) clear expanse of sand, ending in enclosures behind each starting line.
As the Fatamids, I choose to rely on my horse, with a mix of bow and lance. VukTeble's old Egyptians concentrated their medium infantry in the hills, leaving a strong force of bow chariots to defend the sands. My infantry were quickly wiped out (except for one heavy infantry that managed to march all with way to the opposing enclosures), but the rest of the battle became a combination of a running battle between the chariots and the lancers, where the combination of bows and the willingness to run away proved superior, and the Fatamids bows whittling down any infantry that came too close to the sands (with a little lancer pinning support). It was a very close battle all the way through, even closer than the final score of my Fatamid's 62 to the old Egyptian's 51.
In the mirror, the old Egyptians concentrated their elite troops on the open sands, screened by skirmishers and backed by archers, with some chariots on each flank, using smaller forces in the hills. The Fatamids choose to defend their enclosure, including with artillery, with mostly lancers on either flank. My chariots, with a little infantry support, managed to contain the lancers, while my elite troops, supported by archery, utilized the hills leading into the enclosure to quickly overcome resistance, winning 41 to 14.
Good games!

The New Kingdom maintained absolute control over the Nile lands for at least another ten dynasties.
And take the first place in the League.

#7 Fate of Iran
Against all odds, the Timurid cavalry was able to resist the first volleys of Persian arrows to establish some victories.
The Achaemenid dynasty, however, maintains its status as an Immortal.

#3 Time Crusade
It seemed like a good idea, this N-1 Crusade. Trying to take back Jerusalem, before the arrival of the Muslims and the birth of Christ the Saviour. Unfortunately, sand is timeless and bronze is deadly when you're bakin in your armor.
Re: League of Anachronicals Derby - Results
Reporting a match that I don't see a report for:
Ulysisgrunt won as the Syro-Canaanites vs my Crusaders:
64-45
I was initially doing fine, but the waves of Superior chariots just eventually ground through me faster than I could push them around with my spear line that just got thinner and thinner, and units started getting isolated and swarmed. Good game!

Quasi-Final Standings
Congratulations to Rosedelio who clearly dominates the League with 1143 points and 12 wins out of 14 battles.
Only the Fatimids and the Ottomans were reluctant to shine under his orders.
Jtrillodpm subtly stole second place from Maeglyr, with two very small points.
Solemnace is close behind.
Awaiting results for the second part of the ranking.

Vuk Teble (Berber Hafsids) defeats Rockmanbob123 (Carthaginian)
63-30(screenshot is from my final turn, just before one unit rallies back, so 63-30 is the correct score)
Much respect to Rockmanbob123, I had lined the long ridge that dominated the left and center of the map with a line of defensive and offensive spears with archers and crossbowmen firing over their heads. He assaulted this position instead of hanging back. Just to the right of the center I got the drop on some warbands with my merceneray MAA's but he quickly replied with his elephants, wiping out my knights. The downside for him was that the elephants all pursued into a shooting party behind my lines and I hunted down 2, nearly 3 elephants. Further to the right he'd massed his cavalry which I faced with a swarm of light troops, light jav cav, two light spear cav and three camel lancers, this section was chaotic and we both won parts of it. Great fight, thanks Bob!

#2 Riding in Anatolie
Chris Townsend versus rockmanbob123 results, which were delayed due to both a computer issue and hard fought battles:
Chris Townsend's Ottomans defeated rockmanbob123's Hittites 61 to 57; and
Chris Townsend's Hittites defeated rockmanbob123's Ottomans 53 to 24.
The map was divided by a small stream, often lined by woods or rough, with plenty of open terrain behind each line and between the edge mountains.
The Ottomans choose an active defense of the stream with mounted archers on the wings and a small mixed force in the centre. They were met by a mass of spear in the centre, and decent chariot forces on each wing. The Hitties pushed through their missile losses, and came very close to winning, with a rally of a routed Azab mass archer on the penultimate turn probably deciding the battle in the Ottoman's favour.
In the mirror, the Ottomans occupied a fortified position with their Janissaries, and deployed their cavalry as a mobile reserve in the rear. The Hittites deployed chariots to both flanks, that eventually fought the cavalry to essentially a draw.
Meanwhile, their infantry cautiously approached the fortifications, concentrating missile fire on the corners and screening the advancing infantry with skirmishers as long as possible. Despite losses, those infantry were eventually able to pin the Janissaries in place, allowing other troops to move around the corners and attack the fortifications from behind, leading to the victory.
Surprisingly, both of these hard fought, good games ended with 9 turns remaining.
